Penn State football is officially adding Division III quarterback Connor Barry to its 2026 roster. He signed with the Lions on Monday.
A Division II transfer QB with only 1 year starter experience led Ole Miss to playoffs. Chambliss was initially brought in as a backup and took over after injury. This is the recruit that will get us over the top.
Exactly! This is the recruit that will get us over the top!A Division II transfer QB with only 1 year starter experience led Ole Miss to playoffs. Chambliss was initially brought in as a backup and took over after injury.
Will be nice having a backup QB with actual playing experience, something PSU never really had during the Franklin era

This guy is not anywhere near the level of Trinidad Chambliss.A Division II transfer QB with only 1 year starter experience led Ole Miss to playoffs. Chambliss was initially brought in as a backup and took over after injury.

We're not hating on him, we are simply setting realistic expectations which are most likely what you have mentioned. Why is everyone complaining about this? Kid is not being brought in to start or even be the back-up, he is brought in to be 3rd string over the two incoming freshmen. EVen if they beat him out if gives an experienced guy at practice to run the scout team.
Of course, many of those hating on him now will be clamoring for him in October after Becht throws a pick
How many teams were beating the doors down to get Chambliss last year? Kiffen brought him to Ole Miss as the backup, not a starter. Same as Barry, an affordable depth piece. This guy is not anywhere near the level of Trinidad Chambliss.
Ole Miss was the D1 team that aggressively pursued him after viewing his film. I believe they knew he'd eventually supplant Simmons as the starter. I was at an Ole Miss home game this year, saw Chambliss in person. Evasive, explosive, solid arm strength. Anyone who watched Simmons in the SEC opener against Kentucky knew he would not take them far. Incredible arm strength (MLB prospect) but terribly inaccurate. How many teams were beating the doors down to get Chambliss last year? Kiffen brought him to Ole Miss as the backup, not a starter. It's depth...not a big deal. Definitely not a negativeExactly! This is the recruit that will get us over the top!
By the way, how did the other DIII QB transfers work out at the DI level? Just curious.
Chambliss is a horrible exampleHow many teams were beating the doors down to get Chambliss last year? Kiffen brought him to Ole Miss as the backup, not a starter. Same as Barry, an affordable depth piece.

There will be plenty of Becht picks to analyze. Why is everyone complaining about this? I expected better from you. Here you are throwing ex-coach Franklin under the bus for ill-preparing QB's for actual game experience.Better than the former throw a deer staring into the headlights into the game tactic.
