Nebraska showed up better than any other opponent so far. Maybe they were caught looking ahead to Penn State because they looked awful against Iowa last week. Anyway, a recap:

125 - Lilledahl
Yes, it was against an unranked opponent but Luke looked great starting off the dual with a TF.

133 - Blaze
Van Dee didn’t show much offense and Blaze didn’t put himself out of position and won a workmanlike decision with the only TD of the match.

141 - Scooter
Came out like a cannon shot with the 1st TD and was looking great until gassing out in the 3rd and getting pinned. Then the belly tap and the kick... Anyway, who had the only fall being by Nebraska on their bingo card?

149 - Van Ness
Once again spotting the opponent some points, Lamer showed some heart keeping Van Ness to a Decision.

157 - Duke
One less undefeated wrestler for Cael to worry about, the defending champ did just enough to eke out a win and attract thousands of new viewers to his exciting style of wrestling. Duke will get him next time. Book it.

165 - Psycho
Just unreal. There’s not enough superlatives to describe his wrestling. Another TF against a future multiple AA.

174 - Haines
The push out of bounds was surprising and out of character. Minto, to his credit, came to wrestle and kept it to a Decision.

184 - Welsh
Welsh with an impressive and very active Major against Allred.

197 - Barr
It was looking like another TF by Barr until a late TD by McDanel. Props to McDanel for not breaking like most opponents to Barr in the 3rd.

Heavy - Mirasola
Oh so close to the upset. This is another where I think Mirasola will get him next time. AJ celebrates again with a split after his inspiring 2-1 victory.

BJC Production Value
The Ref seemed to really enjoy being booed.

Slippery Pete's nimble fingers
Once again, an agile and witty performance by @SlipperyPete

A match as tough as this one is a reminder of how high our fan expectations can get. This is an emotional enterprise not just for the wrestlers (can you say Scooter and Levi) but for us fans. I replayed the match and felt the disappointment just as the wrestlers do. I might need a new obsession!

I voted other for Cole, who stayed focused and fought to the end.
he was wrestling someone not a lot larger than him - so I was expecting some more shots... sweeps, ankle picks, etc. I know AJ was good at backing up the entire time and then would push forw at opportune times but still.... just like taking down, it's a dual and not post season -- so take a few more shots to mix it up...

In his NCAA run a few years ago, Rocco won his first match 4-2, then won 3 in a row 4-1 in SV, before dropping the final to Carter 2-0. Now he is majoring top 10 wrestlers.

Rocco impressed me the most. He has come a long way- this is why guys want to come to PSU.

I picked Rocco. After an early season that was impressive but a bit underwhelming at times, I was getting the impression that Rocco wrestles down to the level of his competition and doesn’t care much about bonus. But lately he has seemed to jump a level. On the broadcast last night Byers credited some teammates (Mitch, Levi, Josh?) with helping Rocco see he can light it up. I’m stoked about the ROI we’re seeing from that pre-season trade!

I hated to see how Davis’ match ended. I couldn’t tell what set him off from the replay I saw. It clearly seemed to be more than just frustration at getting pinned. That kick was out of character for even an infamous scofflaw like Scooter.

Man, it’s gotta be a bit demoralizing wrestling Mitch.

Rocco. All Day.

Other. Davis. Ok the stuff at the end was uncalled for. One, I loved his aggressive wrestling....great to see. Beating Hardy into the third period. Very Nice. Two, while his emotions got the best of him, unfortunately, I am glad that sort of passion is buried in that baby face. IMHO, his first two years at PSU have been......boring. His style has not been exciting at all and win or lose, he seemed like he was going through the motion. Obviously, you don't accomplish what he has going through the motions.

I like Bad Boy Braeden.

AJ and his splits are like an NFL receiver doing an endzone dance in the 4th quarter while down 3 touchdowns, all about him.

I'm giving a shoutout to Marcus. He got a TD, then controlled the match against a kid who was clearly wrestling for OT.

I think Van Dee was initially wrestling for OT, but once Blaze scored a TD Van Dee switched gears to wrestling to avoid a major.
