Not unless he somehow backs into it and is gifted the ball assist road to the 3/4 match. His style just screams upset cityKueter never sniffs a top 4 finish at ncaas..ever
He's not that good. Not unless he somehow backs into it and is gifted the ball assist road to the 3/4 match. His style just screams upset city
TonightSo when is the last time Minnesota beat us?
Our wrestlers pre-match with Telford and Star.Glad we have Telford on staff.
Come March, there won't be any wheels on this jalopy.Only march matters
So Harvey Ludington is our future at 197, right? FFC - at this point just pull the shirt and let him go. RS or not, I don't see how he eventually finds the podium, because that performance tonight was astoundingly bad.
F*ck it all.
I'm sure msu will lolEmbarrassing. Try and defend this.
And minnesota lost to South Dakota state.Iowa lost at home to Minnesota. You see new something everyday. Clean house.
Brands says “steady as she goes”
hopefully steady as she goes right out the door. Goodbye.
It’s the Brands way. The whole hating to lose more than you love to win is the dumbest thing ever. That gets you your lack of offense, that gets you your burned out and injured seniors and so on.More than the outcome, it is the lack of effort and passion. Our wrestlers are either uninspired or scared - either is bad.
I remember when Gilman said he wrestled like someone was trying to take his livelihood away. So, he goes to the NCAAs tighter than a drum and loses. Meanwhile, the Penn State wrestlers come in all happy go lucky after finishing a fun game of dodgeball and beat everyone. It is an attitude and we don’t have it.It’s the Brands way. Gilman was a weird dude w/o the Brands being his coach.I remember when Gilman said he wrestled like someone was trying to take his livelihood away. Bad is putting it mildly.Terrible night for the most part. 33 and 65 wrestled great 74 did what he was supposed to do. Gabe wrestled well just cannot get a takedown. 49 and 57 were bad losses.
I'm never...NEVER going to say Cali could have. That guy pours his heart into wrestling and to this team. Tall me about who could have done anything except Mikey, who always gives it his all. I think Mess just has some kind of Jedi-mind trick that's f*cking with his brain.******* it needed that tech
Cali could have gotten that last takedown if he had slowed the finish just a bit. Did a bit too much rolling around

I know he's just a freshman, but I don't think he's progressed at all this year. He's losing to guys he could better in HS.Minnesota isn’t very good at 197.
Harvey might be able to get a win there (if it is Harvey).
Yep, he was literally crying. I love that he gives a ****, but we still need offense!!At least it means something to Gabe. He was heart broken because he knew that probably lost it there.
And we're not in shape which is a basic coaching expectation. Outside of Drake and Mikey we don't have a guy that can go a hard 7 and maintain any semblance of offense.More than the outcome, it is the lack of effort and passion. Our wrestlers are either uninspired or scared - either is bad.
It's his house and PSU's house and tOSU's house, etc., until we start taking it back. We look like absolute sh*t!!Did McEnally really just say “this is my ******* house” after beating an undersized backup in SV?![]()
he admitted to 2 guys just quitting? wow...at least he didn't lead with the "we like our guys" bs....I'd assume he was directing that at the Little Rock guys....I think they should just be done with them...they got their money...move on...they give up between 6-8 team points every weekend anyway (it seems), and they are constantly hurt...although, being hurt in the Iowa program is expected.Put in my earbud and listened to Brands admit two guys just quit wrestling tonight and say that just doesn't happen. Well I sat in the arena and watched it happen. Then went on to say 6-4 in matches...Still sitting in my seat in Section M thinking in 46 years I have only felt this empty a rare few times.

Kudos to Ayala, Caliendo, Kennedy & Kueter. All wrestled well. (Yes, even Keuter. Not gonna bash him tonight.)
Dumbest quotes of the night:
"Our goal isn't to beat Minnesota, it's to win Big-10s and NCAAs." (Chad Beatty)
"Steady as she goes." (Tom Brands)
Tom clearly needs to go. My opinion was already set in stone, but this was another awful look for the program under Tom. It's like a self-proclaimed master chef puts out 10 dishes and 6 of them are inedible.
I never did get the crowd that was satisfied with Ludington when Bassett decommitted. That's the difference between iowa ans psu. They have true freshman that compete right away. Ludington was a top recruit that lost to a turd.
Spot on!Honestly that’s BS. Quit blaming the athletes and look in the mirror Tom.
Look at Kennedy. We all celebrate that he is a grinder, but the dude was a consensus PFP top 3 wrestler in his class. He should have two nattys by now, but I think we are lucky if he is an all American this year.I know he's just a freshman, but I don't think he's progressed at all this year. He's losing to guys he could better in HS.
