And minnesota lost to South Dakota state.
More than the outcome, it is the lack of effort and passion. Our wrestlers are either uninspired or scared - either is bad.
Put in my earbud and listened to Brands admit two guys just quit wrestling tonight and say that just doesn't happen. Well I sat in the arena and watched it happen. Then went on to say 6-4 in matches...Still sitting in my seat in Section M thinking in 46 years I have only felt this empty a rare few times.
It’s the Brands way. The whole hating to lose more than you love to win is the dumbest thing ever. That gets you your lack of offense, that gets you your burned out and injured seniors and so on.
Terrible night for the most part. 33 and 65 wrestled great 74 did what he was supposed to do. Gabe wrestled well just cannot get a takedown. 49 and 57 were bad losses.
I remember when Gilman said he wrestled like someone was trying to take his livelihood away. So, he goes to the NCAAs tighter than a drum and loses. Meanwhile, the Penn State wrestlers come in all happy go lucky after finishing a fun game of dodgeball and beat everyone. It is an attitude and we don’t have it.
No fire. No fight. This team tonight has no shot at a trophy, could end up about 6th or so in the Big Ten tournament. Im going to focus on a few of the individuals like Cali, Drake and hopeful Angelo gets back.

I know he's just a freshman, but I don't think he's progressed at all this year. He's losing to guys he could better in HS.

And we're not in shape which is a basic coaching expectation. Outside of Drake and Mikey we don't have a guy that can go a hard 7 and maintain any semblance of offense.

he admitted to 2 guys just quitting? wow...at least he didn't lead with the "we like our guys" bs....I'd assume he was directing that at the Little Rock guys....I think they should just be done with them...they got their money...move on...they give up between 6-8 team points every weekend anyway (it seems), and they are constantly hurt...although, being hurt in the Iowa program is expected.

I never did get the crowd that was satisfied with Ludington when Bassett decommitted.
Look at Kennedy. We all celebrate that he is a grinder, but the dude was a consensus PFP top 3 wrestler in his class. He should have two nattys by now, but I think we are lucky if he is an all American this year.
