I still say had Indiana been in the SEC playing on the road in the SEC instead of Northwestern unranked Penn State Purdue etc, they never would have gotten off the ground and would have finished 8-4 at best. Miami in the title game lmao.

The system is broken. Tulane, James Madison, Indiana…..

None make it there in this conference I don’t care what kind of year it is.

I fully expect the Washington wizards and the charlotte hornets to be in the finals. Even if they are both in the east.

Boy look on X. All you “go lousville, go Indiana, go SEC!” Fans are about to see how bad of an idea that is.

Indiana fans are already telling UK basketball doesn’t matter and they’re a football school and we wish we were. Get on there and get you some.
Morg, just because someone chooses to prefer one non UK football team over another non UK football team in a championship game that UK is not playing, does not mean that we are "Go Louisville, Go SEC, ect." If you don't know how to handle Hoosier fans by now, don't know what to tell you.

I’m okay with it. Because i think it’s solid evidence there’s no reason to believe we can’t too. And that our fanbase doesn’t have to settle for mediocrity in either major revenue sport.
Mitch wants you to slow that down, we made bowls!!!! Letterman made a bowl!!!! Rehire Stoops and show some loyalty!!!!

This is our f’n AD.

Miami means nothing to UK. We don’t even know each other. Indiana?

Sorry have no idea how any UK fan could pull for that trash.

Miami gave them everything they could handle. Two loss Miami. If Indiana had Kentucky’s schedule they have two losses

I would say how I really feel about mangayza and Indiana but I’m tired of making new accounts today. And plus Jed is probably getting sleepy. I’m not sure how old he is.

I hate Indiana but there is no denying that what they’ve done is the culmination of the most incredible season in college football history.

Well all I can say is good for them.

The did just become one of the few schools to win a title in both.

Florida however is the only one to win it in both in back to back years.

And Kentucky is also on the list albeit a very long time ago.

I respect their coach and their quarterback. The team played hard and I prefer them to Miami. If you can't handle it...

I agree that they wouldn't have went undefeated in SEC, but they won the playoffs and are National Champions.

To me, it’s not about happy, and I think this is the point so many miss about these guys. These guys don’t get off on happy. You and me? Sure, we’re not loaded and it sounds great to us. These guys already have money and they’re already happy because they’re rich. Their family is taken care if for generations.

What they want is immortality. To get to that level you’re half *** psychopathic / a megalomaniac. These guys are vicious. Ultimate competitors. Happy to them is boring.

They want to eat, and eat, and eat.

All Cignetti is probably thinking about now? Can I do this in the NFL? Winners never stop. Never satisfied.

I’m not saying it’s a given, some coaches do stay put. But in his case not many do. I don’t think he’ll turn down the NFL over and over year to year and he’s not getting younger. He’s already shown his value in college and Indiana isn’t a job that you can’t afford to lose. I don’t see him staying unless his family wants nothing to do with the NFL and he’s too old in his mind. Neither I think are true.

And we don’t know where his dream university is or where his ultimate goals are. I doubt it’s Indiana unless for his family wanting to not go.
While that’s true he can still continue to eat atIU. Can he win another?

Sorry look at their schedule this year. Good way to stay injury free and not face great programs.

Cignetti said it himself. He looked at the schedule Indiana plays and said “this can be done”. Came out of his own mouth. Indiana wouldn’t pull this in the SEC. Wouldn’t happen.

Yup that's exactly my thinking also. No more excuses from our AD or "pony up" comments from head coaches.

Yep.

Based on recent 2025-2026 collegiate sports achievements,
Indiana University (IU) is considered the only school with a distinct, historic legacy of undefeated seasons in both major football and men's basketball, culminating in a unique, modern milestone.

They also are undefeated in a women’s basketball title.

They just became the premier sports school in college sports history.

Yea that’s why I was rooting for them. I wanted them to be able to say that. It’s good for Kentucky. We have so much more history with Miami.

Part of it. How many cakewalks has Duke had in CBB?

In 20 years no one will remember their schedule or care.

I can understand how IU has a good offense bringing in an offensive minded coach. I don't understand how their defense has turned around so fast. How do you make 3 star guys cover and tackle like 5 stars?
DEMANDING discipline and excellence. That's how.

I don’t know how much more evidence some of you will need before you let go of talking about how championship level teams in other conferences would be also rans in the SEC. That just isn’t reality right now.

The SEC barely won bowl/playoff games this year that weren’t against themselves, and both the teams involved in tonight’s game had to beat SEC opponents to get there, with Miami actually beating 2 of them including a true road game and Indiana giving Alabama one of their most embarrassing losses in program history. Indiana was the best team this year and deserved the championship.

Never seen a game in which there's like 7 late hits and no flags

Huh? Top to bottom the SEC was better but Oregon,OSU, and IU were arguably better than any SEC team this year . SEC was trounced in playoffs it was a down year for SEC still good but didnt have any truly dominate teams it usually has
