Heard from a pretty reliable source that a Paris gold medalist who was thought to be done competing is going to be lacing them back up.

I wonder if it’ll be a one last hurrah type of thing for her? The impression I’ve gotten since her Olympic gold is that she’s been enjoying coaching and mentoring the next generation of women’s wrestlers.

The difference in volume between Willie and Basch can be hard on the ears. The last episode particularly was tough. If you turned up Willie you got blasted by Basch - like standing next to a stack of Zeppelin’s Marshall Amps circa 1975

Ha ha! Saw this about FoxPro (they make electronic game calls) hosting PSU wrestlers on a hunt.

I heard that when hunting hawks in the wild the surefire lure is to dangle a shoulder brace and knee brace and have $100 bills poking out of your shirt pocket. It’s still unclear why this works.

Or sit in your apartment at 3 am and wait for them to break into your garage.

Have a knee brace handy when using this method.

Nicky, I've also noticed that difference seems more pronounced lately. Last episode when Willie and the other person spoke I would have to turn up the volume. Then, when Basch spoke it would be so loud I'd have to turn it down. Had to shut it off last week when wife was in car because the discrepancy was so bad.

I started to message them on Instagram the other day, but then got distracted. I think Flo had a similar issues many years ago and @JasonBryant gave them like a paragraph on what to check and it was fixed. Maybe @williesmalls can reach out to him.

she did a clinic between sessions at NCAA's last year and i remember her saying she was happy to not be worrying about weight management anymore. but time passes and the itch comes back so i wouldn't be shocked if she gave it another go at the next weight class up

Wow! I just listened and you're not joking about the volume difference. To add to it, it sounded as if someone was shuffling poker chips while they were talking. Thats a pet peeve of mine when sitting at a poker table let alone while listening to a podcast. Lol

If your wife likes to listen to wrestling talk on the radio, who cares how loud it is!

Just started the most recent episode where Justin talks about trying to fix the levels, and then Willie starts talking and blows out my car speakers

Hmmmm, thoughts on the impact of the transfer window for NCAA wrestling being shortened from 45 days to 30 days?

Don't know anything about the poster or the situation, but sure looks bad.
EDIT: I also saw this just now posted elsewhere earlier. I'm late as usual.

Does anyone know what technique nuance Ben is talking about here? I watched every Penn State single leg TD from the Iowa match to see if I could see anything. I did notice how Penn State wrestlers are not only shelving the leg, but also pinching the leg between their chest and thigh, thus freeing up their one hand to attack the opponent's near arm so they can't defend their leg with that hand. While controlling the hand, the Penn State wrestlers, especially Marcus, will rotate backward while their other hand is around their opponent's waist. This causes their opponent to lose their base and have to put their hand down on the mat, thus ensuring the TD. Maybe Ben was referring to other Penn State matches and not those specifically against Iowa? Are there any great technicians out there who have a thought on Ben's comments? TIA!

P.S., A good example of not utilizing the above technique and not getting the TD was when PJ was in on a single against Williams w/under 30 seconds to go in the 2nd period. Instead of methodically staying low and working on shelving and extending the leg, PJ raised up w/the leg only partially shelved, thus allowing Williams to dive through PJ's legs and fight through the subsequent scramble to avoid the TD.
