    Well, Lombardi had enough confidence in Zeke, to trust his offense to him if/when Starr got hurt. (It happened).As I remember, ZB threw a flatter, more line drive ball than Starr, but ran the offense (QBs called the plays then), without a hitch. He could play, sad to hear of his passing.

    The best pitcher I think ever was, Koufax, would not throw at a batter (bit, before my time, maybe Bob Feller, was just as good...) But, he just didn't need to. Hit it if you can, a 95mph fastball and a 90mph curve. That's BBall I love.

    Yes, watching Yanks games as a kid, sometimes a stupid fan would run on field to taunt Piersall. Recall one time some Yanks ran on field and went after fool fan (Mantle... ?) In those days, emotional problems bore a heartless stigma.

    Fortay did have talent, but erratic. The program, including coaching staff, were showing signs of implosion to come... Tough road for BF. I always wondered if Graber really wanted him. He wanted out of Miami, from East Brunswick, expressed interest in RU - highly recruited out of HS... RU...
