    Coaching your own kids

Fundamentals and fun big time over winning with the youth. I have seen many kids teams that were "successful" mainly because they only played the studs at the time, played zone, and parents coached them like a high school team. When they did get to HS things caught up. Other teams developed...

    A simple question

Looks like billybob took up your challenge and is posting this weekend's results now. Actually it is not too hard to find wrestling results. The Trackwrestling site posts results of every dual and tourney in the state (and most other states) in real time, as schools are required to use this...

    Conference History

Update on old Husker 8/12/10 conference using info from TC53 and my info. The size of some schools is a LITTLE different now. 1958 Husker 8 Cedar Bluffs Ceresco Elkhorn Fremont St. Patrick Mead Millard Prague Valparaiso 1960 Husker 12 Added: Gretna Platteview Waterloo Yutan Fremont St. Pats...

Football ***All Playoff Brackets for Week #10***

I saw Raymond Central did not play Friday due to their opponents COVID problems, and they were the first ones left out. Did that keep them out of the play-offs? If they had played and won would they have been in?

    8-Man 2nd Round Matchups

According to this year's manual, "For 2nd round, quarterfinal and semifinal games, the following procedure will be used: • If the two teams both hosted their previous game, the team with the highest point average will host. If their point averages are the same, the team with the higher seed will...

    8-Man 2nd Round Matchups

I think Creighton will be playing FCSH.

    Power Points System

In many cases, in 8-man especially, point margins can be very misleading. Points can come pretty fast. I've seen a lot of blowouts look closer than it was because of points scored at the end vs. JVs. I've also seen pretty close games turn into blowouts because of some miscues at the end.

NSAA Board of Directors Meeting Minutes - January 23, 2020

I too wouldn't mind seeing State Track moved around, but I just don't know that GI or Kearney have the hotels needed. Interested to see what kind of track UNL will put up in the old fairgrounds. Will that facility be built to accomodate something like the State Meet?

    Conference History

Amazing looking at growth patterns since then. Valparaiso and Ceresco combining with another for a Class C size school, while Millard has 3 Class As, Elkhorn will soon have 3 Class Bs, and Gretna at Class A.

    Conference History

Anybody know much about the old Husker 10 conference? I found a pic of a basketball program from 1963 that included Waterloo, Mead, Prague, Yutan, Weston, Valparaiso, Ceresco, Wahoo Catholic, and Cedar Bluffs. Not sure who the tenth school was.

    Cambridge Basketball Coaches Fired

The reality is that in most C and D schools, hiring of coaches is done by the superintendent, sometimes the principal. ADs have various amounts of input, many none at all. Also keep in mind that most of these schools hire teachers first, coaches second. The exception might be when two teaching...

    Teams Changing Classifications-Projections A-C2

But you have to look at history. An NSAA reclassification committee just in the last few years changed classification numbers to address size differences in the classes. That is why class B is so small now. This was a perceived problem among the member schools. I doubt they would want to go back...

    2020-2021 Enrollments

I can see the thought process behind dropping a class if a school has been terrible for a time and things don't look better for the future. In reality, a bad 11-man team that declares 8-man usually is still a bad 8 man team. What I don't see is why you would drop if you have a decent amount of...

    Football OHP

Sometime co-ops make sense, kids and coaches have no problems, but problems can arise from school boards and administrations. Co-ops work best when schools are relatively the same size and in the same situation. But everything needs to be equally shared. Sometimes the powers that be don't want...
