In many cases, in 8-man especially, point margins can be very misleading. Points can come pretty fast. I've seen a lot of blowouts look closer than it was because of points scored at the end vs. JVs. I've also seen pretty close games turn into blowouts because of some miscues at the end.
I too wouldn't mind seeing State Track moved around, but I just don't know that GI or Kearney have the hotels needed. Interested to see what kind of track UNL will put up in the old fairgrounds. Will that facility be built to accomodate something like the State Meet?

I found a pic of a basketball program from 1963 that included Waterloo, Mead, Prague, Yutan, Weston, Valparaiso, Ceresco, Wahoo Catholic, and Cedar Bluffs. Not sure who the tenth school was.
The reality is that in most C and D schools, hiring of coaches is done by the superintendent, sometimes the principal. ADs have various amounts of input, many none at all. Also keep in mind that most of these schools hire teachers first, coaches second. The exception might be when two teaching...
But you have to look at history. An NSAA reclassification committee just in the last few years changed classification numbers to address size differences in the classes. That is why class B is so small now. This was a perceived problem among the member schools. I doubt they would want to go back...
