Heard folks claiming today that there are pending ncaa issues that are spooking potential coaches. This sounds bunk but could ole miss be hurting your search somehow?
I was at a dinner recently with some folks who follow everything SEC. They, after some wine, were painting a picture with the following:
1. Bama gets NCAA going after ole miss.
2. Ole miss assumes it is msu.
3. To retaliate, Ole miss obtains recordings of players/recruits talking about some...
We have to admit that they have it going on. They are killing it in Texas. Mullen has to be worried. He doesn't seem willing to subject himself to the torture required to keep up with Freeze.
From an outsider, I have always regarded Mullen as top notch. However, those statistics are awful. Beating ole miss is mullen's best win? That is pathetic and I bet you can't brag too much about that win.
For A&M being in another conference has been huge. Mack Brown (who is biased) said that Darrell Royal told him he had to leave Tulane and had to coach for a university that starts with "the". He was providing insight to the challenges facing Michigan state as compared to Michigan. I think...
I don't think you can name something after him right now. I think he needs to be a few years removed from assistant coach duties at a conference opponent.
With that being said, the whole dynamic seems weird to me. Like Mario Andretti racing remote control cars.
