2014-15, Poythress avoids getting hurt. We were a good team after that, but a dominant team with Poythress. Look at results before and after and numbers of dudes he guarded, which was best 2 thru 4 on the opponents
As of now, Garrison is what he is. Elite perimeter defender, above average interior defender, rebounder and passer, below average ball handler and offensive awareness. I really want him back next year. You should too
Poythress NEVER disappeared on defense. Look at the year he got injured and our results before and after his injury... and he always guarded their best 3 or 4.
Agreed he needs offensive consistency. But... he has a near elite skill in his ability move his feet on defense for a big man. He can guard a pg on perimeter. They don't even try to challenge him anymore
We are just a bad match up for Purdue. Too much speed and depth vs a half court team with little depth. They are a good team who will be a top 10 team. They will have trouble with us if we play again
