Sad News CFE. Sam was my favorite Mountaineer in the NFL. I selected the number 70 because of him. I was not aware he had three children. Sad to lose a child I'm sure.

First of all THANKS to all who contributed in this discussion. I hoped this would happen instead of "bluster" that occurs on most sports sites. There was good discussion here on this issue.

I saw this as well. And this is one of the saddest endings to a career I've witnessed. John McCain can in most circles be considered an American Hero. He is going to be remembered as a never trumper grizzly old fart.

But I played D2 football and had the chance to win a NC every year. We didn't but at least I had the chance.

But you have to admit the new playoff system leaves mid majors out of the picture and it's the only group [D1 Football ] where this happens. Doesn't every kid deserve to think he can compete for a championship when season starts? Some know they cannot. Every year.
I can't say I ever heard him threaten to "take away their credentials". But he out loud blamed them for most of his problems in life. Pretty much cried like a infant with any inference of Fox. I do remember that!
