A Comprehensive Look at what MSU is doing in student recruitment

My son is a freshman at State now. 31 ACT 4.3 GPA out of Huntsville High. Full ride. Auburn offered him 3000.00 INSTATE. He was always going to chose state over Auburn because their Landscape Architecture is no longer accredited. My daughter is a JR at HHS. So many of her friends are looking...

OT - college major questions - anyone have a degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture?

Someone else touched on it but you should have her look at Landscape Architecture. It is really more in line with what you are describing. Most states allow LA’s to perform anything that a civil can do and it is also a STEM discipline. MSU has a great program. My kid is going to follow in my...

OT: Making the trip to Athens in September

Do yourself a favor and get some Creeature Comforts Beer. Tropicalia is one of the best IPA's you will drink.

OT: Barrett Jackson. Anyone else watch?

Had the opportunity to attend yesterday. It is quite the show. Lots of cars that you will see at the shows around here. Enjoyed the one of a kind and rare models that you don't see often. I would highly recommend and leave yourself plenty of time to be there. The cars are the highlight, but...

    Charleston, SC

Recommend the aquarium, market area downtown. Eat at Hymans. Lots of historic houses and tours. However supposedly Natchez has more antebellum homes. South of charleston is a great smaller community called Beaufort with access to a couple island beach communities.

    OT: Birmingham

I've lived in both and am currently in Huntsville now. If you did not check out the neighborhoods around downtown, you were definitely in a cookie cutter neighborhood and there are plenty to go around the farther you get from the core.

OT: Hotel Suggestions for Huntsville, AL

Bevill is less than five minutes away from downtown and there are some good places to eat and drink. Here is the event site for things going on. www.ourvalleyevents.com.

Below the radar's chef is former chef at 801 Franklin. I've had lunch it was very good. No dinner though. I would second the Crickets, pan e vino or any of the other restaurants that chef owns such as commerce kitchen and cotton row and he has a new one just south of Martin road that I haven't...

    OT-Hunstville/Madison area

The STA tap room is a good place to start. Liquor Express has one of the largest selections for beer. I would suggest www.ourvalleyevents.com for a comprehensive list of things to do. Downtown is getting better, and has a lot of local restaurants at varying price points.
