I agree but I can’t figure out why. I don’t know a single person that consistently watches the NBA or is excited about the product. I used to love it but can’t make it through a game these days.
My initial resistance to Jai is because he left us high and dry on 2 separate occasions. That being said, Cal was losing it so maybe the 2nd one was the right call.
That said I do think he’s an up and coming guy with a high ceiling. And the bar has been set so low lately that anything will feel...
I just don’t know what he can say.
“Dear BBN, I clearly did not understand the assignment. The good news is I’m gonna get paid $15K per day for the next year to grossly underperform and mismanage your beloved program.”
I’ve wanted Momcilovic over Stokes all along. He could instantly change my expectations from NIT to S16. I still don’t think it’s likely to be a great team, but if a couple of the unknowns pan out, maybe it can make a tourney run.
I’ve been saying this for a while. I didn’t want him here. That being said I wish Pope had made that decision weeks ago so that money could have gone to better, team first players. Now it’s too late unless Pope somehow snags Momcilovic. Which his history shows is unlikely.
