    Larry Conley status

The Runts in 1966 had soph Thad Jaracz (sp), Juniors Pat Riley & Louie Dampier, both All Americans along with seniors Larry Conley and Tommy Kron. The following year with Jaracz and the Cats two returning All Americans in Dampier & Riley, the Cats finished 13 & 13 on the season. I've often...

Jake Feldhaus (Deron’s Son) meets Malachi Moreno at the rim

I remember when his grandad, Allen played back in the 50s. He was referred to by some as Rupps "hatchet man. He was a load.

    1958 NCAA Championship

This is my favorite UK team of all time also. Still have an old 8x10 glossy of the team in my den. There were only 4 games to win in the NCAA tourney at the time & the Cats got some breaks on the draw and played all 4 in Freedom Hall.

Pope Killed it on field of 68

If Perry shoots half as well as Rick Mount, it will be awesome. I remember him very well back when high school basketball was king in Indiana. Indiana Mr BB out of Lebanon, In. Perry, along with Noah and Collins gives the Cats some real firepower, especially next year should they still be here.

    Lamont Butler

Seems like all the experts on the board have already decided he's not worthy to be a Cat. I think time will make alot of them look foolish. Guess I don't understand how posters on the forum can be so decisive on a player(s) before he's given a chance.

I don't think the OP meant "shattered" the way you interpreted it. More like huge disappointed

    What UK loss shattered you?

Same here Doc. Growing up in the 40s & 50s and listening to those two is something I always look back on with great fondness. As the song goes, "those were the days my friend".

    What UK loss shattered you?

Texas Western beat the Cats. I moped around for two weeks. Too old now to let things like that bother me.

    Greatest UK basketball clutch shots

I am old enough to remember Vernon Hattons 47 footer at the buzzer to send the game into OT. The Cats finally won that game in three OTs against a very good Temple team back in 1957.
