    Total transfers by school

I think the reason for this is they were considered the oldest team in college football with the average age between 22.5 and 23 years old. They had 47 players aged between 22 and 25. I assume many graduated or were out of eligibility thus the limited departures.

LIVE look at the Clown U football program

The transfer portal hurt ISU big time. They are ranked #70 in On3 transfer portal rankings. They have a ranking of 69.3 for players leaving and 64.5 for those coming in. They lost Becht and his likely back-up in Manske, Hansen, Bacon, Brahmer and many others.

    Indianas coaching staff

Fry after Snyder After 1981 when Iowa got going and with Snyder as OC they were 68-27-4 through 1988 when Snyder left for a winning percentage of 71.5%. Never had a losing record and only 1 year with less than 8 wins. Snyder leaves in 1989 and that team is 5-6 and here are the points we scored...

Is this the best Iowa team since?.....

Was North Carolina's schedule easier? Look at Virginia Tech's schedule which was ranked #65, is it easier than Iowa's? I said nothing about how good or bad Iowa was in 2023. You made a comment that is completely inaccurate and you seem incapable of admitting your error.

Is this the best Iowa team since?.....

The easiest schedule you'll ever see is a ridiculously dumb comment. Sports Reference has the Iowa schedule rated at #27 as there are around 70 power 5/4 schools the schedule is average or slightly above. Iowa played #1 Michigan, #13 PSU, and #17 Tennessee. Then had these unranked schools...

    Joe Labas

He gifted Northwestern 3 TDs with his 3 fumbles. I believe all within the CM 30 yard line. Stats mean very little when you are down 34 -0 in the third quarter and NW give everyone a chance to play in the bowl game.

Power 4 vs. Group of Five

I believe with NIL the disparity will increase as several top G5 players transfer to P5 schools. But the disparity has always been there. I found this, between 2010 and 2020 the power 5 won 60.8% of the bowl games. And of course in these games you are not playing the top teams in the power 5...

Iowa State and Kansas State opting out of bowl bids

I agree and their likely bowl game was was on the 26th of December. That gives dinged up players two+ weeks to heal before they have a week to practice before the game.

    Klieman departing Kansas State

I think Klieman was tired of fans reactions and lack of respect for what he has accomplished. See his reaction after a tough loss to Utah a couple of weeks ago. He was very emotional and tearing up and said: "I've given my friggin' ... life for this place for seven years. I've given...

    Looks like Kentucky .....

Went to 247 sports and they had updated NCAA College Football NIL for 2025. Kentucky was listed at #18 spending $11.2 million by comparison Iowa was listed at #21 spending $9.6 million.

"Don't be asinine. You're an IDIOT if you think Kirk Ferentz needs to be FIRED."

I agree, no disrespect to our HOF coach Hayden Fry but fans sure do forget some of his bad years. Let's take the years 1992, 1993 and 1994 when in the middle of his coaching career at Iowa we had 3 non-winning seasons in a row and we were 16-18-1 over that period. In 1993 we were 6-6 and had no...

Which of these western teams would qualify to be in the Big Ten? Back to 2 Big Ten divisions

The question is anyone watching college football in the Phoenix market. ASU stadium holds less than 55,000. 10-25-25 ASU Houston game drew a viewership of 402K on ESPN2 while Baylor Cincinnati drew 453K on the same channel. Phoenix has the additional problem of 60% of the population was not...

VOTE: Is Kirk a Hall of Famer (assuming he maintains at least a .5950 win percentage)? He's currently at .5972 (has to go at least 7-6 next season)

The NCAA rule a coach needs to have a 59.5% winning record seems too simplistic. I will look at two coaches I feel are above average coaches but at this time I am not sure either is a better coach that Kirk yet both qualify. Matt Campbell was on staff at Toledo when they were 9-4 and took over...

VOTE: Is Kirk a Hall of Famer (assuming he maintains at least a .5950 win percentage)? He's currently at .5972 (has to go at least 7-6 next season)

If he continues coaching he could be under .5950. Next years schedule looks difficult Illinois, OSU, Michigan, Washington, Northwestern, Nebraska, ISU, are all bowl teams and Wisconsin seems to have found a pulse beating Washington and Illinois the last couple of weeks.

VOTE: Is Kirk a Hall of Famer (assuming he maintains at least a .5950 win percentage)? He's currently at .5972 (has to go at least 7-6 next season)

Should Kirk Ferentz be in the College HOF If we want to determine if Kirk belongs in the College Coaches HOF I would look at past inductees. Here are some examples. Frank Solich took over from Tom Osborn in 1998 after Nebraska had been National Champions 3 of the 4 prior years, including the...
