OT - Former Governor William Winter passed away at age 97.

And what you don't mention is that Winter, basically from the start of his appointment to the job, was pushing the legislature to abolish his own position (and eventually was able to do so). The 10 percent that the State Tax Collector made from the collection of the black market tax predated...

How Texas Football and Tom Herman have fallen behind Gary Patterson...

This post feels 5 years too late. Plenty of reasons to criticize Herman, but.... -How has Texas been a "meteoric downfall" under Herman? It's been the exact opposite of that. Their decline started 11 seasons and two coaches ago. If there was a meteoric downfall, it was from 2009-2010 in...

Why is the knuckleball dying off?

See, if Wakefield is one of the first guys you bring up, there's your problem Wakefield had 3 good years--1 as a reliever--and was tremendous in one start on a huge stage (03 ALCS vs. Yankees....edit, I also see that he was good in the playoffs his rookie season for the Pirates) but otherwise...

    I gotta give michigan credit....

This. Michigan was a preseason top 25 team that may lack the depth that other teams have but have elite talent in critical roles. They probably have a top 5 starting rotation and some big bats and athleticism in the lineup. Just like Oregon State in 07, Fresno, UVA, and almost every other...

Vandy Boys off to a rocky start

There are definitely exceptions...and that was a weird *** pitching staff that ya'll had that year. It worked....but not many staffs have guys like Mitchell and Girodo in bullpen roles, who were basically giving you starter innings.

Vandy Boys off to a rocky start

When your 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation are Top 75 draft picks.... ...you've got a shot. Michigan is one game away from the national championship with Kauffman and Henry starting each of the last 5 games...and they haven't started one game on less than 6 days rest. USM fan...

USM Fan Here. Outsider's view on your team....

Yeah, I don't know what is going on there. He struggled to end the season last year, didn't make the cut for the USA National Team, and struggled in the Cape. I am a little concerned about him pressing early this year. Plus, he's spent his entire career sandwiched between high-level...

USM Fan Here. Outsider's view on your team....

Really impressed with your pitching. The bottom of our lineup is BAD right now, and I suspect that after 1-4, it will look nothing like this by the end of the year. For example, if our 8 and 9 guys are still in the lineup in May, something will have gone very wrong. That said, our 1-4 is...

Small is dealing and looking filthy

As a USM fan, hats off. Haven't seen anyone do that to one of our lineups in a long time. Makes sense to be careful in February and him having an injury history.

Small is dealing and looking filthy

Because for whatever reason, your hitters keep trying to take a sinkerballer deep.

    Cann statement...

Lol. Cannizaro was not fired for just having an affair. i don’t know what else there was to this...but no D1 coach is fired for having an affair.

    Link to watch baseball games

As a USM fan, let me tell you....you haven't experienced college baseball until you've seen a constantly buffering feed of UTSA and Charlotte playing in front of 200 people from a circa 2003 camera with a stammering freshman student providing commentary.

4 pm baseball! What does USM's lineup look like compared to last year?

I'm not sure what the exact rule is but I know that Reynolds was expected to receive a waiver last year allowing him to play in 2017. He didn't. Perhaps, some kind of exception was in place where because he was waiting (and did not receive) for a waiver from the NCAA, he received another year...

4 pm baseball! What does USM's lineup look like compared to last year?

Pretty much a consensus All-American this year I don't know how his arm didn't fall off at the end of last season. He threw 241 pitches over 11 days to close out the season--for a kid who weighs about 150. He pitched well in the Cape in the summer, and I think we rested him through the fall...

You know USM wants to win this series

Eh...sure, I guess For the players, I'm sure that is the case. Though, I think that would be the case for anyone who beat you twice in one night at your own Regional to end our season. I'm sure the in-state factor adds something to it. As a fan, I think my concerns about this season go far...
