Movie you loved that didnt get a ton of recognition:

I loved Under the Silver Lake, and I almost never run into anybody else who has seen it, including other people who really like movies set in Los Angeles.

A movie people loved that you thought was terrible.

That is 23 minutes out of 169 minutes of total runtime. The Oscar is for best picture, not best scene.

Yea, Merced is just tiny and flat. You can see what they are planning to do with the lake and architectural style, but I think it's going to look like a community college for a long time. Have you been to the UCLA campus? The reason that I ranked Berkeley higher is because it feels "out in the...

I had the same experience. It is still one of my all-time favorite movie-going experiences.

Finding Ohana is a cute remake of Goonies set in Hawaii.

Hot take: Shakespeare in Love is a much more skillfully made movie than Saving Private Ryan.

In the spirit of generosity, I will share that I was notably surprised by how much nicer Riverside's campus is than I expected it to be. The botanical gardens are especially nice.

That is fair. Like the rest of Irvine, that campus is nicely planned and well-executed. I am probably letting my bias against the suburbs influence my judgment on UCI, UCR, and UCD too much.

I am sorry that you found my question to be aggressive and/or passive aggressive. I assure you that it was not my intent to attack or otherwise insult you. In...

Well, I really like almost every movie mentioned in this thread. I hate the Avatar movies. I also strongly dislike pretty much all of the popular Marvel movies.

I do not agree with your characterization of the interaction. I had been participating in the thread in question prior to responding to one of your posts. I did not challenge you or otherwise ask you to criticize my opinions. I never made any demands of you, which -- of course -- I would not, as...

Even this post is weirdly aggressive (and inaccurate) from my perspective, but, no worries, we do not need to have any further interactions.

UC Berkeley is a shockingly gorgeous and impressive campus. The view from the Campanile across campus to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most impressive experiences one can have on a college campus. UCLA is next, and I think it has the best architecture and overall layout...

I was shocked by how aggressively he responded to me, as I am quite sure that I never insulted or attacked him.

All of my CDs and DVDs went to an e-waste recycler many years ago.
