Immediately after he says good question, you can see his posture give out, and the beads of sweat coming off his head. Had this been cal he would of been crucified. Total ********.
Forde never in his life questioned Pitino like this. Coward.
Most LSU fans have no idea who Wade is since it isn’t about football or baseball. You should be SOOOO proud LSU. That’s the face of your basketball program.
They are getting paid at UofL, LSU and Kansas. It doesn't matter what the coaches are thinking about. All that matters is those kids getting fairly compensated. Based on the money that this sport generates it is laughable that the players are not getting paid.
It’s not the programs, coaches, or universities fault that those kids are in poverty (the ones that are).At the same time It’s not their fault either, might not be anyone’s fault. But it’s not a good place to start your argument. It’s merely a qualifier to begin the argument by playing toward emotions and guilt.
These universities are handing out an opportunity for a new life equipped with perks than less than 1% of the population can receive. There are many kids in poverty, they better hope they can catch a ball, right?
The vast majority of the money from the NCAA goes back to the universities to fund many programs and departments. There are many kids from poverty who can’t catch a ball on scholarships from that money.
I know this new grievance is all the rage, but at some point people have to let go of the extreme rhetoric.
True.
Where were all our self-righteous fans when Derek Anderson and Ron Mercer were driving around brand new sports cars back in 1996 and 1997?
Spare me the moral high ground. If you want to land elites, you have to offer more than free education. I hope UK gives Jalen Johnson's family an entire freaking county in his honor if it means he comes to UK.
Have to remember who was coach then too. Pitino has revealed himself to be lacking in moral fiber.
If we cheated, and it came out and was proven, I’d be the first to say return everything.
I was pretty much a kid for those teams so, I didn’t know about that stuff. I’d have serious questions if we saw Maxey or Whitney driving around sports cars today.
"I’d have serious questions if we saw Maxey or Whitney driving around sports cars today."
While they play for a coach who makes $10 million a year with their only compensation being one free year of inflated Marxist-level education?
These kids make the money for the school in a system that is innately broken. If they get some perks along the way, I'm not going to dust off the high horse and look down on them.

I didn’t say I’d look down on the players. But if you knowingly just break the rules when you’re the adult in that situation, I’d have serious questions.
I agree. Change the rules. Pay them something. Or allow them to have an account while they play where money can accrue and when they are done (after 1-4 years) they can have at it.
Sorry. I’m just not a big fan of openly cheating and smiling while you get away with it.
With that being said, I’m not saying no one cheats either. We’ve seen that.
So just a hypothetical. Do you approve of what Duke “did” with Zion?
Good post.
I approve of what Nike did with Zion. In fact, I wish Nike would help us like they used to.
You should be SOOOO proud LSU. That’s the face of your basketball program.
LSU's new AD has a son that is married to Emmert's daughter. We knew they would skate once the courts said Wade did not have to testify. Those transcripts are sealed. Now you deny and lawyer up and are golden. So the ncaa is going to let this guy escape free
I think Derek Anderson had a piece o **** 86’ Cutlass, now the engine may have been tip top but the body had what looked like red primer paint on different parts of the car. This was right around November of 1997. Maybe he could have got the new car later in the season but I do remember seeing him drive this particular car.True.

I’m sure LSU’s newly hired Athletic Director had nothing better to do with Wade and LSU getting off scot-free. If I’m not mistaken the AD’s son is married to Emmert’s daughter. Nothing fishy here...
EDIT: Also, found that Scott Woodward (new LSU AD) and NCAA President Mark Emmert worked together from 2000-2010 at #LSU and Washington
Just because this is where he is today doesn't mean he won't get hammered down the road. This is far from over.
Anyone who doesn't believe that the NCAA is corrupt, has their head in the sand. First thing that needs to be done is fire Emmert. Then, start over.
"I haven't heard the recording. No one has." -Will Wade
[laughing] Except the FBI genius.
I guess a million dollar house for his parents to start with was a bargainGood post. I agree that they should change the rules.

Duke probably got Zion at a bargain.
