I find it ironic though he HAS NOT been mentioned much by the NBA pundits during the playoffs about where and IF he lands with another team next season. Griffin (GM) could be stubborn and hold out until next February.. And with his father saying he WILL not play for Celtics... It seems DAVIS wants to play in LA with LeBron.. But Griffin will demand a war chest for him...

I think he embarrassed himself by letting LeBron puppet him. Disappointing.
Could have handled the situation better but he's still maybe my favorite player ever. I'm hoping he ends up on a contending team. He deserves that.
I think he gave New Orleans 7 years while they showed no plan, gave albatross money to injured Jrue Holiday, and shared facilities with the Saints.
He let them know a year in advance that he wouldn't be staying so that the franchise could get something in return for him, but they'd rather burn it all down to be petty and try to turn public opinion against him, which is exactly why no significant free agent with other choices will ever go there.

NO hasn't shown they can put the pieces around AD to compete for the Eastern conf title. So I don't blame AD for wanting out. But he and his reps let LBJ use them and made it a very uncomfortable situation. The that's all folks tee shirt wasn't the smartest thing to do either.
I think AD ends up in Boston this summer, they've got the most assets to bargain with. LAL has nothing of value to trade.

IMO, AD did NO an absolute solid when he resigned with them a few years back. He was trying to be loyal to the organization that drafted him, and give them time to put the right pieces around him. Said organization never attempted to put the right pieces around him in order to win, thus this outcome. People can say what they like, but AD had every right to want out. I don't blame him one iota.

He definitely could have handled it better and does seem like he got some bad advice from people around him on what to do. Rich Paul thought he could bully both NO and LA to make the deal. Everyone knows he's a good dude, just handle this situation poorly. People make mistakes. He better come out next year gang busters though where ever he's playing.

He handled the situation as poorly as you possibly can. Make no mistake about it New Orleans is a dysfunctional organization and he needed to get out of there. Still there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. He chose the wrong way. Working behind the scenes to force a trade would have worked if done correctly and the NO owners would have looked like the bad guys. Instead he took it public and even went as far as the childish stunts of wearing that tee shirt. That isn't going to be received as a slap at the owners, that's an insult to New Orleans fans. Now Anthony made himself out to be the bad guy and the owners get to play the role of victim here.
It’s easy to go back and judge a situation without knowing full details. Bottom line is Davis wants a shot at a championship. The probability at New Orleans is very low. He’s going to do what he needs to do to put himself in a championship probable position.
In hindsight, he could certainly have handled things differently. But he’s taken all the bad rap for the whole situation, and frankly the Pelicans organization handled it just as badly if not worse.
He’s not done anything childish. Been more than patient. NO wants compensation for the trade. Davis wants trading. Result? Impasse. Not much to have a take on.
The shirt was immature, you also can’t blame him for wanting to get out of New Orleans. They did nothing with his talent when the could have built a team around him.

Boston assets are vastly overhyped. Those assets are not nearly as enticing with Kings/Nets improvement. Their players? What do you want? Jayson Tatum? Terry Rozier? Jaylen Brown? All the crap the Lakers get for not having "talent"--look what their discarded players have done--Russell was an All Star and helped get Nets to the Playoffs, and Randle put back to back strong seasons up. Meanwhile the last team to deal with Boston was Cleveland and where is Jae Crowder and Isaiah Thomas? On different teams and didn't do anything for Cavs and not doing much for Jazz and Nuggets. Boston has Woj sucking off Danny Ainge and all he does. Irving is gone after this year....and you trade away Tatum/Brown to get Davis so what do you have now?
If Durant and Irving go to the Knicks--and Knicks were to get #1 pick, they could trade that, Knox, etc...for AD and it's a far better deal then anything the Celtics could offer. Would you rather have Zion Williamson/Kevin Knox or Boston's offer? Davis would sign an extension with Knicks--if he goes to Boston, he'll be 1 and done and you gave up a bunch to get rental for 2nd big trade you've made with what to show for it?

The Lakers have been god-awfully run. They sold their soul for Lebron and didn’t make the playoffs. I really hope AD doesn’t go there.
You have got to be kidding, what a load of ********. First, you think he didn't have conversations with management, that this hit them out of the blue? Two, whatever transgressions you think he has committed won't affect one penny of his next contract. He'll be the bad guy only until he puts up his first monster stat line at his new gig.
You people need to stop judging every athlete based on semantics for how they go about making their decision. There is nothing wrong with publicly saying "I'm done playing for an NO, trade me." Nothing, zero, zilch, nada. Management doesn't have to comply, but we all know once he's a free agent teams will be lining up to sign him.

I still laugh at people who say the Lakers have leverage. They're in the position now that they can't sign a free agent to a max contract this summer and still sign AD next summer. On top of that, they have to try to sign free agents to 1 year deals again and have to fill roster spots for all the guys who signed 1 year deals this year. They're in a really bad position in the AD sweepstakes.

Personally I've always liked Anno Domini but the reprobates had to go to Common Era seeing as how they don't like to have any mention of God in their remembrance.
I think a lot of this is dependent on how the lottery plays out. I can just about guarantee that NO will reach out to whoever gets the #1 overall pick and try to swing a deal for AD.
And if it's the Knicks, it makes it really interesting, because I think they'd be willing to swap that pick and try to sell AD and Kevin Durant on playing together.

Boston also has three first round and two second round picks this year. Put that together with a couple of players (Rozier, Brown, maybe even Al Horford) and nobody will match it. The Pels need to start over with a bunch of draft picks and rebuild.
The Knicks could not afford KD, Irving, AND Davis. And there is zero chance they trade the #1 pick if they get it. Their fans would burn down Madison Square Garden if they did that, even for Davis.
I still think Kyrie will stay in Boston if they get Davis.
It's a shame Cousins got hurt last year, they could have built a contender around those 2 guys that may have countered the mind numbing 50 threes a game strat used by every other team
