I think Blackshear is the biggie by far...and EJ coming back.

McDaniels is a talented kid...but he's no banger and not a back to the basket scorer. If our bigs are Nick, EJ and Brooks....Blackshear fits a ton better than McDaniels IMO.

"Bucky" Nell can bang and EJ can he if will. I take J. Mac , JJ. EJ , and Nick.
Just feel that J.Mac and EJ will be the answer by March.

I reckon.

He’s #1 on my wish list.

1. Blackshear
2. Montgomery
3. Richards.
4. McDaniels

Col. what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Rather have a 6’10 proven post college All-League player than a 6’10” wing ain’t proven **** thinks he’s a 2G player.

You do realize mcdaniels could be a number one pick correct? Yeah he’s got that much upside.
I’m not interested in #1 picks.

I’m interested in winning college basketball games and national titles.

Then you’re nuts, kernel

I’d prefer Blackshear as well, but potential #1 draft picks can help you win college basketball games and national titles.

"I don't want a top 5 recruit I just want a RS senior that bricked 10 times vs duke in the S16 to lose." Got ya. Guess you haven't heard what his dad said about UK either

If I had to choose one, it would be Blackshear, but I'd honestly be fine with McDaniels, as well.

The problem is this: is it worth the risk for Cal to turn down McDaniels in hope for Blackshear to a) return to college, and b) pick UK over the other finalists? What if he just gives up on McDaniels only to learn that Blackshear will stay in the draft? Then, we end up with none of them.

My point is that while Blackshear is commonly seen as the better option in some people's eyes, it is too much of a risk passing up on McDaniels (a top-five recruit, might I add) if he is ready to commit.

They could both end up here if Nick or EJ leave, but we are again relying on the fact that Blackshear will return to college.

No.

I’ve read everything.

I have my preference and that upsets you.

I apologize you’re offended. That wasn’t my intention.
Not offended, just thought you were smarter.

JM has a much taller ceiling and a tad lower flower than KB. KB is the higher floor and I get why you may prefer that, but JM crazy ceiling and Cal ability to push freshman to hit that ceiling leads me to prefer JM over KB. Good chat.

I’d like to have all of them. EJ, Nick, McDaniels and Blackshear. But in that scenario, keeping Sestina in mind, someone isnt playing.

Maybe Sestina will be content in just being a part, any part of a contender after 3 seasons at bucknell.

But man that sure would feel like a waste.

I like that black shear is proven in D1 and has post season experience. I’ve become a big believer that post season experience matters in March.

Sestina doesn't have much of a choice, that said I'm pretty sure we only get 1 of 2 out of KB and JM. If we get both someone(Nick/EJ) transfers/leaves or Cal lets Sestina out of his commitment. If they all come and all stay it may be more stacked around here than 2015 UK

I’m going to say my list is contingent on if we get Juzang!

1. McDaniels
2. EJ
3. Richards
4. Blackshear

With a roster of:

Hagans So
IQ So
Maxey Fr
Juzang Fr
Whitney Fr
Brooks Fr
Montgomery So
Richards Jun
Sestina GrSen

We’d have the horses to run the dribble drive finally and play 4 out 1 in. And be a more up tempo team!

We need to get at least two of the four. I don't really know which two I would rather have.

I'm just of the mind that you take the first two that want to come/come back and go from there.

Three out of four would be really nice. Not sure there's a enough room at the table for everyone to "eat" so to speak.

Would be a nice problem to have, though.

Cal can sell alot options here. Including help us all return ky back to final four. And possibly a championship. Not all kids are chasing me me. Lets hope richards makes the best decision. And utilizes the feedback. To become his potential at ky. Ej might be gone. Take mcdaniels now lol. Then we just see if blackshear wants to give it 1 more trial in a different college system.

I’m gonna give you the opportunity to go back 50 years and research and tell me how many times the #1 pick also won a national title.

I’m fine to wait.

Take your time.

I really don’t have a life.

Just gonna sit here.

Again
Usually improves your odds. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. When Kentucky has the number 1 pick we had the best team in the country. And 2 of those 3 we didn’t win a national title. Take a Xanny for realz

Since you have nothing to do. Have a little fun

Take every number 1 overall draft pick and compare it to the best transfer. See which you’d rather have. Reid was the best transfer last year. Love him but objectively you taking him over Zion ?
