Known headcase in Cali. Bro trained him before his Jr year. Now he could have matured since then and he does have very good potential but many in Cali feel he will likely try to go pro after this year or transfer to UCLA

How do they keep landing these guys? Why can't Cal get us some more?

Stfu OP you not paying attention to all the people we are still chasing. I will give you a hint as ro why we didnt get this guy, we dont need more guards

Our guards staying and coming are better than the #29 sg sorry man

We need bigs and we are after them. Youre being a fool

We don't have room. guys like Stanley and Hurt were never favored for Duke until late, because Duke missed on several higher ranked guys.

We'll see how it works. Kinda surprised a guy like AOC or White aren't transferring. Duke has two elite players, and about 8 guys on the next level down. Not sure how that's going to work during the season.

As expected, and the casual observer would be quick to count them out now with RJ Hampton as a result. However...

Welp, I struck out on another prediction. Must mean he was scared off by Hampton reclassifying and going to Kansas or that Duke let his parent's move in to Zion's house.

Telling the OP to STFU and calling him a fool. Really?

I hope you're a very young person.

The biggest thing I like about THIS class for Duke is that there is the potential for some of these guys to stay beyond a year.

That's probably the only positive take-away when comparing this to the previous few classes.

But it comes with two issues: You don't know who will leave for certain, which will mess with recruiting, and it will also force a transfer or two within a year.

GOing to be very interesting to see what Duke does next year.. they will be losing Bolden, Javin, Carey, Hurt and Jones. At least.

All this means is that kids still see Duke as a destination. However, as we’ve seen the last four years, it guarantees you nothing on the court.

Lot's a free houses going around. Plus if you're junior in HS, you can make up your entire senior year of academics in a few weeks while playing college basketball. There's a lot of reasons why they would see Duke as a cool destination.

Every year, you specifically, have said that the Duke roster will not work. You said Bagley/Carter team is not better than the Giles/Tatum team. You then said Zion/RJ team would not work because of a log jam at the wing. Maybe this year it will work maybe it won't I don't know. A lot also depends on how good college basketball competition will be. We'll just have to wait and see instead of making general statements like you, always assuming the worse case for Duke.

With all that said I'm not that high on Cassius Stanley but maybe he gels well with the team and contributes a large chunk this year.

And so far I've been right. No Final 4's.

The only one I was wrong about was thinking 3 elite SF's couldn't play together.. and In some ways, I was actually right. A guy like Cam Redish was more or less wasted being behind Zion and RJ. He would have thrived anywhere else.

He *should* be one and done. But seeing what guys like Self and K are willing to do to retain talent.. maybe he's a 2 year player. I was surprised Jones wasn't 1AD (he would have been under Calipari). But then again, I never thought he was as good as Duke fans made him out to be.

Still, Hurt will likely be 1AD. He waited this long for a clear opening. And it's not like he was a Duke lean until 3 weeks ago. Otherwise he was going to Kansas.

Reddish got 12 shots per game (more than anyone on UK this season), he was allowed to handle it, drive, and shoot whenever. He just couldn’t make shots and couldn’t hold on to the ball when driving. He had an even bigger chance to show out when Zion went down and actually performed worse in those games. He was very similar to what everyone said he was in high school. But sure go ahead and say he thrives anywhere else.

I don’t recall the bar for your annual “Duke is doomed” predictions being about whether or not they make the Final Four. Its usually about how the grim reaper is about to strike. I recall one UK fan months ago saying something like: “I’ve heard this for 10 years now.” In response to you.

Looks like now you’re slowly pushing the 2020 demise into 2021....

Two things: Recruiting well means you’ll be competitive, it doesn’t guarantee anything. And secondly, Duke not making the Final Four does not put Kentucky in the Final Four. And there are only around 300+ schools who would have loved Calipari’s last four recruiting classes.

If you like that you should be happy as a pig in **** because most of these guys aren't good enough to be OAD for Dook except Carey. I can't even see Hurt being an OAD with that body and lack of defense and he's your guys 2nd highest ranked player. Dook went from the top 1, 2, 3 guys in the nation to who can we get. That team looks like a mess. Jones will find it different passing to these guys instead of Zion, RJ ad Cam. He should have bolted while he was a 1st rd pick.

@Neue Regel and @FLawLesS_NoLe

The funny thing is, I was very sure Duke was going to be unstoppable when they had Tatum/Giles and Bagley/Duval/Carter. You can check these forums for my posts.

As it turned out, K was pretty bad with 1AD recruiting and couldn't get either team going.

Either way, your teams were apparently unstoppable. They talked about undefeated seasons. They talked about BEATING NBA TEAMS!

You missed the Final 4. Failure. Big failure. Pretty much all of college basketball is talking about how K/Duke did so little with so much help and recruiting.

Michigan state.. 37 minutes, 8 shots. Both RJ and Zion doubled his shot attemps that game.

I know you guys like to think everything is about Duke. That everything we say MUST be some sort of bias.

Cam Reddish was going be over-shadowed at ANY school with those 2 infront of him.

This isn't a "Duke" thing. It's about team make-up and chemistry. K failed to make a well-rounded roster. He would have been better served to have a proper SG than the 3rd SF...

Honestly, does anyone here (trolls not included) see this as a #1 recruiting class? After Carey, I don't see a player I could less about having at UK.
Maxey>Stanley
Whitney>Hurt
Brooks>Moore
Allen<Ellis (Maybe just going by ranking, I like Allen and know nothing about Ellis)

They have Carey who is very good. We don't have a big guy now so will have to wait on that one. Cal isn't done yet, but I already like our class way better than I do theirs. I think Ellis and Moore combined for 6 points in Jordan Brand Classic. We have to add a couple of pieces, but Dook is probably done and I'm not impressed.

I have NO IDEA what’s going to happen next year in terms of the end game success wise. What I do know, is that I most likely will experience a great deal of winning, enjoyment and more than likely sadness. There’s a LOT of fans of other programs who don’t get to experience the winning and enjoyment part, but UK and Duke aren’t one of them. National Titles aren’t the barometer for me anymore. I’m just at a different point in my life.

the op has his opinion as do you

UK still needs a shooting guard, they have Maxey & Quickley...........Hagans can't shoot worth a diddle
They also need the big guy from VT
