Available guards in grad transfer....IMO this is what we need unless signing Hampton or another guard reclassify that is sure fire OAD.

Cannot go into next year with a 3 man rotation and Brad....not good for biznass.

Admon Gilder- T A&M
Christian Keeling- Charleston Southern
Jahaad Proctor- played for Tubby at High Point
Camron Justice- KY boy
Jaevin Cumberland- as good as his cuz?
Terrell Allen- UCF

Many more on ESPN list.

I like what I read about Gilder and Allen. Like that Gilder has SEC experience and is an all around player.

Need one of these guys...

So we were fine at guard when we could count on Baker and his 2.3 points per game but now that he isn’t here we need a OAD or top grad transfer in his place.

Yeah, cus we had Hagans, Herro, IQ + Quade before Baker took over.

Not to mention Baker played great defense...and will be a year older....and is a shooter, proven or not.

Brad couldn't guard me when I was his age.

So this is really more about who replaces Herro, who was never coming back. I suspect the answer is Maxey. Better than Herro in some ways and in other ways not as good.

We are very likely to replace Baker with a better player. That’s a gimme.

Sorry, yeah you do man. You are delusional if you don't see this...you want Brad as a guard when Hagans and Maxey are in foul trouble?

Better ask:

Do you want Brad playing 10-15 minutes a game or sometimes more? You know against real competition.
Did Immanuel Quickley die, or are you just omitting him from the roster purposely to help spin your sky is falling narrative?

I mean say what you want...but if you think having 3 studs and Brad is enough you are mistaken.

Injuries, foul trouble, bad play...must have quality depth.

I have no idea why you keep bringing up Brad. That’s all you. What I’m telling you is that Baker will be replaced with a better player. That’s Hagans, Maxey, Quickley, and a new guy that will almost certainly be better than Baker.

No Brad. Unless there comes a terrible plague.

Dude, read my posts....I didn't omit IQ.

You cannot have 3 guards and Brad. I never said sky was falling, I asked who was gonna replace Baker.

Maxey and Hagans 25 to 30 mins a game unless you want them legless in March.

IQ 15-20 mins a game.

Who is playing the other 10-15, is that Brad?

If Cal can talk a grad transfer or a 5-star guard into coming in and playing 5-10 mpg behind three 5-star guys, then I'm all for it.

I just don't see it happening.

I'm bringing up Brad because that is who we have now as a 4th guard.

Read the freaking question on the post. I'm asking who we get...lol.

I am at least making suggestions. You are just saying we will get someone better.

All I asked is who people think we will get and suggested a couple transfers I thought would fit the bill.

Like mentioned before
Allen is a guard. Brooks can be a guard. Whitney can play the 3. We don’t need any guard out there. If someone of quality comes available great. Otherwise we are fine. Now the vt tech kid... that’s quality we can use.

I don't know one way or the other if we need a 4th guard or if someone we have can swing out there. I do know though that 18 year olds better not be legless after a 40 game season, I mean next season some of them will have to play 82 and then playoffs...

Jfc relax. We would have the same number of back court people in front of him next year as we did this year.

Really ?
See him in high school?

Whitney can’t cause his ball handling skills need work. Brooks could even be a make shift point guard. So get the f$&@ out here with that ****.
I have and he's right. No way he will play guard next season as he is not a good ball handler at all.

Ok, I see where you are coming from.

My logic is that Baker was a redshirt freshman last year. He was in the system for nearly 2 years and wasn't as bad as you are making him out to be. He wasn't a defensive liability and showed flashes of being a shooter, which he was known for.

If we are not going to backfill his spot with another stud or grad xfer with experience, I don't see a situation where a true freshman that they can get at this stage in recruiting cycle is going to be an adequate replacement for what Baker was and IMO would have been next year.

Also, it is important to note that my grad xfer recommendations or examples were just pulled from a list. They weren't all top guys...some down in the 20+ range.

Yeah I think something in the 20 range would be perfectly adequate.

Neither Brooks or Whitney have handles as good as Keldon....that was another reason we could get away with a primarily 3 guard rotation last year, because KJ was essentially another guard at the SF.

Evaluation

A big wing (6-9) who combines good size and length with very nice athleticism. Versatility is also a strength. It is possible he spends some time as a shooting guard, and also could slide all the way down and be a stretch power forward. Has ability to naturally get buckets in the mid-range. Needs to continue to get stronger and work on his perimeter jumper. Should develop into a first-round NBA selection.

I’m sure ruptards know more than scouts lmfao

I love how 95 percent of you have never seen him
Play yet think they are knowledgeable. Was Knox a
Guard ? Could he play guard ?

The op was throwing any name he could to replace a guy who avg 5 mins a game. I’m saying brooks could play guard. He will get mins at guard. He’s know for his versatility. If you watched him
Actually play maybe you would know this.
