I would have liked to have him, but he's not really a cal type player. Has cal ever really been successful with a perimeter oriented type big?
think Skal could have been one but for some reason, he was made to be a back to the basket player here, think thats why were missing on so many of the top bigs lately, in todays game most want to play facing the basket.

People really overstate that.

Anthony Davis can play stretch 4. He can also use his size to his advantage.

If all you can do is shoot—you’re not taking advantage of your size.

Don’t know why anyone would be shocked by this. He’s not coming here. He will end up at puke or Kansas. I think with all Kansas is losing, that’s where he will go because he won’t play second fiddle to Carey. Puke next yr will have little to no shooters once again. K sold out nicely. I would love to see cal do what k used to do when it came to recruiting and getting guys to stay more than one yr.

Here's the question regarding Hurt... would he have a chance to start over Nate Sestina? I'm not trying to just be a jerk, but Hurt and Sestina seem to have a similar kind of game, but Sestina is much stronger, has more experience, and has proven he can score at the D1 level. Hurt is 6-9, 215lbs and 18. Sestina is 6-9 240lbs and 22. I'm thinking Calipari saw the writing on the wall with Hurt and that's why Sestina was signed. Hurt is good, no doubt, but if I'm choosing between these 2 guys for one season, Sestina is the best choice in my opinion.
Knowing Cal, if he thought the commitent of Sestina would adversely affect any recruitment he would of had hI'm remain silent. I think Cal sees him more of a 5 that can draw bigs out of the paint thus msking it easier to drive...we didnt have that type of player this season and saw how they packed the paint eliminatin driving lanes. Sestina will be a player at UK, he will be trying to get to the nba, he is a late bloomer and didn't take it seriously, now he is showing skill and can play!!! If he puts up 120 3's this upcoming season...
Baker and IQ will benefit having a player like nate joining us. Hurt is a pf in college imo, he is faster than I remember and hits all his shots...he is a baller. I want him to go to unc just not pUKe

Paying recruits, bad seeding, bad refs, global warming...it’s always something for the simple minded.

Nods, I know. You CLOD never let a little thing like cheating deter you. So how much should we pay these top recruits? There a limit or is money no object. How about fringe benefits? Housing? Jobs? hookers? Any limit for you there?

UK/Cal invested a lot of time in the recruitment of Hurt because they liked his skill set and thought he could fit in. Like any player, he has some areas that need improvement but also think Brooks/Sestina combination offset that recruiting loss in terms of roster. Now general talk of being done for '19 class, I disagree. Think they are actively changing the roster to fit how they want to play moving forward. The offers to Omayuri and attention they are giving Maker are type of bigs I expect to see UK involved with. Like both players and fact UK has reached out in a big way. More hit first and aggressive type of players. Quick Twitch. Look like Cal/UK players, not guys who go to UK because they think they can automatically turn you into a UK type of player, if that makes any sense?

Jaden McDaniels is a no brainer. If he wants to come, you take him. Now will that happen? Who knows? I don't think he's a UK lean, but also don't think he's decided. This week will say a lot being around 3 UK commits and on same team. Should get a feel if it's possible or written off. He'd be pushed and his game would grow significantly under UK staff. Hope his camp sees that aspect.

I'm not a recruiting or basketball expert, but as of today it seems Duke is going to run a fast paste offense next year.

Might be time for Coach Shitachievesjkisoiuotisji to go on his retirement tour.

Dude couldn’t get to a Final-4 with the last 2 teams he had. Had the most talent both years. But his recruiting hasn’t faltered. None. But fans want to believe ours faltered after the 2015 loss. As if recruits saw that, and said they weren’t coming here. You can’t fix stupid.

Oh god yes. He would easily start over Sestina. Sestina probably won't start with or without Hurt. You'll see Brooks at the 4 before you will Sestina. I like the Sestina pickup but let's not confuse him with a eventual 1st round pick. Sestina is an Isaac Humphries type of pickup. I do think Cal saw the writing on the wall as did most the rest of the college basketball world. We haven't had a realistic shot with Hurt from the beginning.

Hurt was going to get paid either way! KU or Duke just a different school!

Dude, do you actually think he’s gonna pay you? First off, pretty sure it’s against Rivals and Cats Illustrated policy to make monetary wagers.. Secondly, if it weren’t against rules, how are you gonna enforce the bet? You don’t even know who the hell you just made a bet with! Give it up. There are no winners!!!
I think the big question would be... how would he deliver the money? It couldn't be done without both posters giving away their identity. Unless someone could figure out how to exchange money without giving away identity, I don't see it happening.

Not at all. I highly doubt the guy had $15.00 to bet with, let alone $1,500. I am honestly not worried about rivals "rules". I am just getting some amusement.

Easy, make a check to cash and mail to a PO Box. Or buy a pre paid card and have them deposit the funds into the account electronically.

I seriously doubt we ever had a chance. Isn't his father a doctor with the Mayo Clinic? I doubt seriously he has dreams of being a one and done and certainly he does not have to fight generational poverty. Duke would be the perfect school for him. He will play for them multiple years and there will not be any pressure to leave early.

Another factor is the fact Duke and their fans are much more accepting of white players. A white player at UK will be ridiculed by a portion of the fan base and compared to Rex Chapman. Who needs that?

He's a bit overrated. Hurt will be a solid college player but I think he'll struggle to create his own shot and rebound.

Nah, I just want the money you agreed to bet. You literally said "How much you want to bet that Cal goes and visits Hurt before his decision?"

Then followed it up with "Ok so, we are on for a G, right? You said a grand, right? Ill go $1500 if you are that confident. We can do Venmo or Paypal, your choice."

To which I replied, "How about $2,000? I like easy money.

Since you seem to know what to do, go ahead and set something up on whichever site you prefer. Send me a link showing you have in fact created and funded it and I will match it" Thursday at 7:16 AM. Which by the way, included the time stamp thay shows it was after the news came out of a supposed visit I called bs on.

Are you really going to try to lie and straw man your way out of it now?

Cal and UK haven't been recruiting him for 2 weeks now.

So, about my money?

So, I guess daddy dearest is excited to start enjoying the fringe benefits of parenting a Duke basketball player. New house? No problem. New consulting job? Taken care of. And biased lapdogs in the media who never ask any probing questions about K or his cheating? Just perfect.

In all seriousness, I would like your opinion on something. Do you think Cal favors black players over white ones? Just curious. I'm not saying Cal is racist because I don't think he is. But he could favor one over the other just like he would favor one type of offense over another, etc.
