Bruce Pearl is a good coach and is always respectful to UK and to other programs. I really don’t get how so many on here can’t give him his credit. He’s certainly earned it. He also gives respect and props to other programs and their players. I’m glad he’s in the SEC.
1 mistake shouldn’t define him.

If I'm UCLA id make him a huge *** offer
LOL. UCLA is cheap! They tried to steal Cal with a pay cut. Then they wouldn't pay Dixon's buyout and he was said to be the guy they really wanted. Their #1 LOL. Not sure you are going to see much of a huge *** offer as it seems like they are shopping at Costco as far as hiring a coach.

I grew to dislike Pearl when he was at UT. I seem to recall him holding a special senior day for Chris Lofton when we were in town - not even his last home game. Had graphics that said "thanks for believing in me" or something similar as if he were trying to rub our noses in Lofton going to UT. Never mind the fact that we took Delk and Mercer out of Tennessee and won 2 ships.

He got caught hosting kids at a BBQ but then lied about it. Can’t begrudge him much for that. UNC shuffled athletes through scam classes for 20 years and the NCAA says its outside their jurisdiction. Duke has players getting huge loans but that gets swept under the carpet. BP is a very good coach and he’s entertaining.

I was at USI when Pearl coached there. Just a great dude. Very approachable. Would come down to the PAC, and watch pick up games. Talking trash. I took his officials class, for my PE credit. He helped me get involved with officiating, and introduce to some college officials, leading to my start as an official. Just a cool dude.

He made a mistake at UT. Paid for it. He's genuine. Respects everyone, and trats everyone the same.

Also----If and when Cal leaves----If I am UK, I throw the check book at him. Dude would win BIG at Kentucky.

He was class and i liked the fouling strategy.. but he probably should have taken a deeo breath, slowed down a bit and made them realize not to do it under 2 seconds with the ball not even to midcourt.

He is a lying cheating scumbag. Practiced deception to entrap other coaches. Auburn staff has been corrupt to the point of prosecution.

I just hope he keeps his sweating filth away from a Kentucky bench forever.
Agreed, I never want the man near a UK bench! When Cal decides it's time to retire, UK can, and WILL do much better than BP, you can bet on that.

Good post. I totally agree with you. Some on here have to constantly cut a coach, player, etc. down. First Pitino, now Pearl. Like I said before, everyone makes mistakes...some larger than others. But we ALL do it. I have to live in Evansville, Indiana for a job, and I was here when Pearl coached at University of Southern Indiana. He had class and was well liked and respected at U.S.I.

Agreed. I even teeter on almost liking Pearl lol...

I know i know

I’m a fan man. Not sure exactly why, but I liked how he would get in it with the Tennessee student section for women’s games. He’s also always complimented us. He’s had success everywhere he’s been. I wouldn’t want him as a cal replacement personally, but I think he’s a notch below cal and some others. Probably a tier 2 coach to me. Glad he’s in the sec.

Agreed, he handled it well after the game.

I get the, he made a mistake and paid for it. But his assistant coach just pleaded guilty in the FBI probe. Like Pitino, I find it hard that Pearl didn't know what Person was doing.

All of this sudden burst of emotions and love fest for BP is making me sick in my stomach.
I am beginning to think he is using the same love-me-potion he used on his team by hypnotizing them prior to games.
When the players snap out of hypnotic effects, I bet they could not make all those three pointers.
He is a modern day Rasputin reincarnated.
Go ahead, hate me for it, see if I care.

Life is so strange.

Two weeks before the season (due to FBI probe) there was a question if Pearl would even survive to start the season.

Now he ends up in FF.

Wow.
