We need bigs that are just as athletic as the rest of the SEC. Our bigs got their shot blocked a few to many times although it's probably to late this year to find someone.

Pretty impressive for Sestina to put up 7 and 6 (in 16 min) against UNC a year and a half ago. But really, it's basically 2 season ago as this game was mid-november.

I think that says he can be a 12 and 8 kind of guy for us, on any given day.

So is he a PF or center? I have a feeling if he comes, Richards more than likely leaves. This would be the second year in a row where a grad transfer comes in and takes his playing time.

Got no problem at all with that! Nick is still a project and while he has great height and physical skills, he’s simply got poor hands and low basketball IQ!

Well TBH, Nick is the one losing playing time.

The coaches were saying it all year, the team needed Nick to be successful, well, he never got where he needed to get.

Cal wants to win, just like we do. The right thing to do is bring this dude in, because Nick isn't going to be the guy we need him to be.

Agree!

UK must think the McDaniels ship has sailed to sea.

Just as well. I like the idea of a high level veteran over a redundant wing. Don't get me wrong, Jaden is incredible and I think he'd pay more long term dividends for the program, but I like the idea of more veteran play next year. We need it.

Cal wants him, or he wouldn’t be visiting. I am curious how you know he is ours. I imagine he will probably take other visits.

“After the visit, I’m going to sit down with my parents and the coaching staff (at Bucknell) and evaluate my options from there,” Sestina said. “The coaches have been so supportive and have been great resources.”

Kentucky is the only trip Sestina currently has planned, and he said his timetable to make a decision depends largely on the visit.

“If it goes well, clicks and I get signs from God — I’ve got to pray on it; I’ve been doing that a lot recently — it just depends on the visit,” Sestina said. “I’ll take the time I need to make the right decision.”

No sources from me, but of course he is going to be a Cat. Too many reasons for him to be at UK for him to turn down UK.

We need this kid for depth. Doesn’t matter if Richards is here or if McDaniels or Hurt comes or Dante or Todd reclassify. You need depth and options. Also doesn’t allow players to get comfortable with playing because there is nobody else

Weird for us to miss on so many

Money was still being passed around. We might not get back to it until next year's class. But we did steal Brooks at the end and we're getting a top class WHILE returning a lot of talent. This isn't like 2013 class that saw a lot of openings at Kentucky..

I think our recruiting is great right now. And don't be so sure that all of Brooms/Whitney/Maxey are one and dones. Look at EJ and Hagans. EJ especially, was our best pro prospect.. But he needed time to adjust.

Weird you would say that. If I remember you said that about Ayton. Funny how Cal seems to not get those players that are asking for money like Ayton who ended up at Arizona and now they are in hot water with the NCAA.

Heard Rick recruited the kid while still at Louisville. Pitched it as Sestina & Sextino: The dynamic duo!

Yeah. I think the Adidas scandal the FBI is onto has hit us hard.

Dam if we had those players and especially Bamba and Zion the past few years I bet we would have a couple more titles. NCAA needs to clean this **** up. I find it funny that Cal was killing everyone up until 2015 in recruiting and then it just declined with the Top 5 guys and some Top 10 guys that were supposed to be UK leans. Everyone back then was talking about keeping up with Cal. I remember an interview with Self talking about the pressure Cal puts on coaches as far as recruiting goes. Well, we now know how they caught up. Funny how Cal either isn't in on a great player like Ayton or backs off some and they are the names we are hearing with $ involved. They couldn't beat Cal straight up so they started cheating.

I still want Matthew hurt I can’t stand to see him light it up for puke

With all his ties to family in Kentucky and the fact that his dad played in Kentucky you would think we could get him. Makes you wonder, but his family doesn't seem like the money asking type. Problem is Cal won't deal with money hungry players, dads in his ear or promise anyone playing time even if they are a top player. But it's the right thing to do, it just cost us, players. If the NCAA would clean this **** up or at least make an example of some schools and big schools like KU who everyone knows is dirty I bet we would start landing the cream of the crop again. But if schools know they will probably get away with it with only a few being punished they aren't going to stop.

I can't believe Sean Miller still has a job and Self has had something going on for the past decade plus. The NCAA is so worried about money and BS rules that they aren't taking care of business and schools are taking advantage of it. Just like Will Wade went from getting to LSU to a contender in a blink of an eye. I would love to know the players we would have got if money wasn't involved. Cal was on a tear and then it slowed down. Now the FBI scandal has broke in the past year plus and it has to make you think and know why Cal avoids some amazing players.

Hopefully Cal has noticed that the teams that reach the FF now a days, are laden with veterans ie. Sophs and above.
