Gene Steratore. Retired NFL ref, now a rules analyst for CBS on NFL and NCAA basketball. Has an older brother, Tony, and he is currently an NFL ref.

Yes, he was a basketball ref in the past. I was wondering the same thing when I saw him giving ref analysis a few weeks ago.

A lot of these guys call every sport coming up through the ranks. Moving up to the top also usually takes a few connections as much as it does ability . Doesn't surprise me a guy can make it in more than one sport. Football is a pretty easy sport to call if you are assigned certain positions.

No.

The rules were
1. Control
2. Two feet down
3. Time to make a football move.

Once all three are accomplished, and they were, the player becomes a runner and is no longer bound by rules that apply to receivers.

At the VERY very least it should not have been reversed.
