talked to two Final Four officials — they blew this call,” Greenberg, the former Virginia Tech coach, said on ESPN. “That’s the way it is. You look right here, this is a point of emphasis in college basketball today. Hook-and-hold in free throw situations. … That is a classic hook-and-hold. That’s what they’re looking for, that’s what they’re calling, that’s why they go to the monitor. “… I’ve talked to multiple Final Four officials. … There’s no way that officiating crew will move on to the next round.”

They don't need to move their job is done, the NCAA will find 3 more to take their place and Duke will be fine.

Why don’t you post a link instead of babbling incoherently?

Disagree. They have the comfort of knowing they will get a call or a no call when they need it. Just pathetic and shameful that this happens regularly for one team and none of the blabber mouths in "journalism" have the guts or spine to say anything.
But if some player comes out as gay or makes a social justice comment, they run over each other to write about it. Jokes, everyone of them.

Also I just turned on to watch the end of the game again ironically I turned it on just as the UCF played was being fouled with 7:38 to go and you clearly can see the official pointing up in the air to say it was on the shot and watching it was clearly on the shot. Yet they only gave him 1 shot saying it was a 1 and 1. Jim Nantz even said "to shoot 2".

Wow no one even mentioned this one in the media after the game.

I didn't see the game, but why on earth didn't the player who was held not tell the coach and referees that they needed to look at it?

Good question I think the coach can get a review by risking a timeout and they had 1 left. Not sure on the rule but thought that was the case.

Also watching replay I just caught the 2 cheerleaders doing the chest bump after the 3 pointer with just over 4 mins left to give UCF the 70-68 lead. Missed that in real time.

They did as they were instructed to do. They will be rewarded with Final Four games. And should Duke make it, likely the national championship.

No, the crew won't, but Duke sure will. That's all that matters to the NCAA.

Well they accomplished their mission got Duke on the road, they will send in their relief referees to get them through next weekend, then go to the Rooferee to carry them home.

Whew! Thank god... they’re getting rid of the refs. And here I was thinking duke was gonna get away with another bogus win.

Oh what’s that?.. They still did? Ah. I see.

Looking back, I’m amazed they didn’t job us back in 98 when we came back from 17 down to beat their asses. No way in hell they would allow a Cal team to do that. Somebody would foul out like Wayne Turner, who was absolutely abusing them off the dribble.

I would say that’s why they are moving on to the next round. They did exactly as was expected of them.

I mentioned it in the Highway Robbery thread. You can only miss that one way and by accident isn't the anwer.

I agree, but that was before ESPN decided he was Holy Saint K.
