That could happen. Nightmare scenario is UK facing Auburn for a third time and losing without PJ.
meh, usually when a team plays lights out like auburn did, the next game turns into dudville.
The only way they beat them is to score more points. Thats all.
Auburn relies heavily on the three. They have made them in spades since the SEC tournament. The question is... when will they have an off shooting game, or will they? If they are on then they can beat UNC, but they can just as easily be off and get drummed by 30.
Dear lord... thinking about it, it almost seems inevitable. They have never played in the NCAA tournament. So, it would be 'fitting' for them to play in the championship game the first time they meet. UNC won two of three so far, and Duke and the great Zion could even up the series (I believe the overall is that UNC leads by 1 game) and then win a title as well. Just further proof that Zion is the greatest of all greats as he takes down his arch-rival in the title game. [sick]
I think this is a very winnable game for AU, but there shots will need to fall. Both teams love to run, and I think AU may be even quicker, which could cause UNC some issues. UNC also likes to shoot the 3 ball, so they will need to be on as well. This may be the best matchup of the SW16. This and the LSU-MSU game I am really looking forward to.
Really I don't care who, just as long as we are playing in the Elite 8.
I like our chances against AU without PJ much more than against UNC. Auburn can't shoot lights out from 3 forever, and our defense just shut down one of the best three point shooting teams (and 0-fered the best shooter in the country) without PJ, so I'm convinced we'd easily handle Auburn.
UNC is much bigger and we'd absolutely need PJ just for rebounding. If we don't have him, we'd likely lose, and lose by quite a bit.
So in my mind, without PJ, Auburn is our best opponent for making the Final Four. Assuming we can score at all against the UH defense.

That would be a nightmare. We smoked Auburn without RT, but I wonder if we would fare as well with RT but no PJ (if that happened).
Still, our 3 point defense makes me confident about a potential 3rd matchup.
North Carolina leads, 139 - 111, not some arbitrary number of games that ESPN comes up with.
As soon as I saw the matchup, I felt Auburn will win this game. UNCheat dosen't play defense and Auburn is the kind of team that will take full advantage of it.

I do think Auburn is capable. Whether or not it happens, I don't know. I sat and thought about this individual game for 10 minutes straight when filling out my bracket. I'll be watching and rooting for Auburn.

Then they will make up the fairy tale that Zion was torn between UNC and Duke before finally choosing Duke.
I think teams are very aware of Auburn now. I hope they win for sure, but I think this is the end of the road for Auburn.
I don’t trust auburn either, should be wild game to watch though. Pretty sure they can just shut off the shot clock in this game, might be 300 possessions. Hope auburn can get it done, if we get past Houston I definitely like this matchup better than the cheats.
The media and all the sports pundits are praying for a Duke vs. UNCheats final. The refs announcers and the following of both these fan bases deserve this they say. The ACC is college basketball they say, it will take PJ Washington coming back at a high level to kill the narrative. If not I do believe the media will get what they want.
Sorry, didn't read it in the other thread. I guess we both are thinking along the same lines.
Only if they hit as well as they did against KU. They are not a great defensive team, and running with the cheaters is not a good strategy.
.....you know CBBCrazy, if Zion does hit that winning shot vs. UNcheating that we are thinking of, it might replace the Laettner shot replay that UK fans have to endure every year on the CBS promos.
As long as that shot is not against us if we should make it, then there would be two to deal with. God help us all....hehe
