Defensively they are great.

42.1%..........that's what teams effective FG% is against them. 1st in the NCAA.

Holding teams to 42.7% on 2s and 27.5% on 3s.

That's lockdown D.

I’ve said it in other threads, I want nothing to do with Houston.

They are dismissed here for no reason at all. Without (if) PJ it will be very difficult to win.

I’m in till the end but we really need PJ back (sorry to bring that up again) or we’re going to have a REALLY hard time from this point on. Waiting on his status is killing me.
I agree with this but I think we can beat Houston without him. It'll be tough but we just beat a team just about as good as Houston, who happened to be under seeded. This will be a game where Herro and Hagans will have to score against their pressure and neutralize the three.

They are very good but this is probably the last game we have a legitimate shot at winning without PJ. It will be very tough to beat them but it's possible.

What is the latest news? Waiting to re-evaluate him on Wednesday or Thursday? Sucks he wouldn’t even get any run in practice before the games.

I don’t have a clue and I plan to keep my mouth shut since so many posters are on that topic.

According to Sargarin or Kenpom Houston would be like a 3-4 point favorite on Wofford.

So yeah.........it prob be around 2ish if they meet us. Close line.

Houston is really quick and athletic. But they don't look to have a lot of size. I think our length will bother them.
This is why I compared them to Wofford. I think we can handle them inside IF we stay out of foul trouble. Just my opinion, but from what I've seen it'll be another perimeter oriented game, much like yesterday.

Wofford is not nearly as good as Houston. Not even close.
That makes no sense .It's all about matchups.

Houston has a knockdown shooter, but they have no true big down low. UK can match up with that.

Wofford had 3 great shooters, one of which is the greatest 3 point shooter in NCAA history, but they also had beef down low.

ItIt about matchups and on KenPom, Houston is rated 13th, Wofford is 20th, so they are close.

Houston is really good and we really need PJ. We could win that game without him or lose with him. It just sucks we haven’t been healthy in a month.

He's scared of any team in the top100.. BUT DON'T LET FACTS GET IN YOUR WAY!

Houston has been feasting on mid-major competition all year.. and got a seed that is not normally reserved for a mid-major.. simply because the Pac12 sucked, and you had down years from everyone from Florida to Indiana to Kansas.. Houston is a 5 or less in most other years.

And they also played in a conference that didn't have NBA athleticism to stop their guards. It's one thing to win the American with two 6 foot guards and no serviceable center.. its another thing to do it in a major conference.

NCAA net rankings: Houston #4, Wofford #13
Sagarin: Houston #15, Wofford #34
Massey Composite Ratings: Houston #10, Wofford #24
RPI (garbage but still): Houston #7, Wofford #21

They aren’t close

I thought the same thing from the eye test. I've seen just about every one of Houston's game's this year and to beat them you must handle their pressure. Not many bigs down low but similar to Wofford in that regard.

Cincinnati beat them by double digits one week ago. Can they beat us, sure, but if we get PJ back we should beat them. However, without PJ, it will be very difficult.

They also beat uc twice in the regular season, the second time by 16 points.

Houston is really good no doubt. It’s a winnable game regardless.

Somebody said Wofford doesn’t hold a candle to them...that isn’t true. As good as Wofford’s shooting was, their big guy would start for Houston. He’s better than any post player they have.

Kind of strange that UC handled them so easily the last time and I believe that someone else gave them a very close game.
