Basketball players aren’t tested in the “40 yard dash”. Also, a 40 time has nothing to do with any skill relating to basketball. How old are you, 12?

I didn’t know footspeed didn’t matter in basketball. I learned something today. Does jumping ability not matter either? I’m thinking of trying out for the Bulls tomorrow.

What? Lamb was a shooter only. Herro is a highly skilled basketball player all around.

Lamb was crafty, created off the dribble, had a floater, etc. He was a great scorer.

Herro is great. Lamb was as well, but I think people sometimes forget how big of an impact he had and how well-rounded his game was in his two years here.

Foot speed isn’t the same as 40 yard dash speed. You’re talking about agility when you mention foot speed. It’s clear you don’t understand what you are saying though so I will let it be

Diallo could jump over the moon, does that make better than Herro?

Thanks to all the people in this thread who proved me wrong saying herro is a spot up shooter, by pointing out the fact he sometimes takes one dribble before he shoots. Thanks for everything you’ve done for the community.

I mean...by definition, whether he's taking one dribble or 117 dribbles, him dribbling and taking steps after he catches the ball means hes not a spot up shooter. You're being a smartass, which obviously gives you joy, but it clearly bothers you that no one agrees that hes a spot up shooter.

You honestly couldn’t have turned this conversation more into semantics if you tried. I’m kind of impressed.

I probably should have said “shooter”. In the nba I picture him as a spot up shooter primarily. That’s what I meant, and I probably didn’t phrase it perfectly.

Can you see Herro avg over 20 ppg 1 st 4 ast 4 reb over 40 percent from 3 in a few years in the nba ? If so yes those are all star numbers. He’s got a pit bull mind set.

Tells me exactly what I needed to know about some of these metrics... they're flawed. Wofford was never in the top15. I think it's a GREAT win, considering we had no PJ, RT going out for a bit with knee issues, and not much from Herro. Plus we game planned their best player perfectly. Ran him around all game.

But Wofford is not as good as people thought. And I feel the same way about Houston..

Which is why I think he needs to come back and gain weight and hope he does. His ability to get into the lane has been good but he hasn't proven he can take a hit and score. He needs to gain another 10 or 12 pounds and prove he can drive into the trees and get and-1s after getting bumped. Someone that shoots from the FT line as well as he does needs to get way more than 2.5 attempts per game. Double that, at the least. But with these kids these days, who the hell knows if he's OAD or not. Fingers crossed he's not. And if he is a OAD, it better be because we won the effing championship.

I’d draft him late first round/ early second this year if I was an nba team, on the potential of him contributing in two years or so. I see him being about the 7th man for an nba team through his career, always in at the end of a game to shoot FTs. I’m not a professional talent scout by any means, but that’s where I see him. So, I don’t really fault him if he leaves this year.

Herro doubled Lambs rbs, ast, blocks and steals with about the same ppg.

Shot creating skills in the nba: maybe a bit less than average. Defensive ability in the nba: average. Size in the nba: super super average.
You know none of that since he's still a freshman in college. 2 years from now when he's 21, put on 20 pounds of muscle and playing in the NBA we'll actually have a better idea of what he can do. Until then you're just making statements on what he would do in the NBA with the skills and physical tools of his 19 year old self not to mention your opinion of his skills is ignorant.

Fair point, although it's worth comparing the teams they played on when you're considering some of those numbers.

My point was that Lamb was more than just a shooter. He was a well-rounded scorer and offensive player.

Take a look at Curry. He's got no length, jumping ability or speed yet he can get his shot against anybody and is one of the best players in the league. Herro is no Curry but his physical tools, size, speed, reach etc. are all better than Curry's. With hard work Herro can be a very good NBA player at least. We all know work ethic won't hold him back.

Tyler has serious game, and he could probably get in first round if he leaves.
That said, I think if he came back, I think he could work himself into the lottery.

Sorry, he’s not at good offensively right now as JJ riddick was when he came out of college. If he comes back he has potential to be a lottery pick.

JJ Reddick was a Senior.

Let’s check back on Tyler Herro’s stats In 3 years....whatever they are 22 yr old Herro will have quite a lot more money, experience and coaching to his credit than 22 yr old JJ.
Only time will tell if he is able to capitalize on those things. Based on his rapid improvement across the board this season, I think he will continue to improve his game. But it’s just a guess.

A lot will depend on where he goes, coaching, staying healthy, etc. anything is possible, to say otherwise is either ignorant or disingenuous.

per super pundit jay bilas knocked wofford out. Highest rated team by net rankings (13) to be eliminated. Without Pj. Anyone thinking wofford were a walk in the park are sadly mistaken. Underseeded And can beat any team in the country in any given day.

Herro asked to guard McGhee. Shut him down. First rd. Herro will be a an all star in the nba if he stays healthy. He’s a cat with a pit bull mindset. Opposite morgusky who’s a *****-cat with a weiner dog mentality. I kid I kid :cool2:

Why’d you get a week off again?

When did it become the NFL combine?
Lol, right?

40 yd dash is not a thing in basketball. But even so, I can’t take you serious if you are implying Lamb was a far superior athlete to Herro.

Truth is Lamb was a fine shooter, with ZERO defense or rebounding to his game. And the primary reason he got to show off his shot was because of the talent around him demanding so much attention. A lot of scoring options on his teams. And very capable penetrators that could kick out to a wide open Lamb.

That’s not how this years offense is structured.

Herro already has trouble creating his own shot in college dude. He’s crafty so he gets by in college, but his first step is nonexistent.

You are forgetting how the NBA works. Herro being a white kid with ability will be given a free pass, i.e. he will be aided by officiating so that he becomes a star. I happen to be one of those who believes he will be a star anyway but don't doubt that the league will see his value and will make every effort to exploit his talents. He will put people in the seats.

But, but, but we are doomed without PJ and should just forfeit....

:flush:

Go Big Blue!
Go Big Blue!
Go Big Blue!

The Natonal media is left with “Kentucky struggled and clearly missed PJ v Wofford.”

Well no duh you freaking haters. Not only were we missing our AA but is was basically 8 v 5 the whole game too!

Im sorry Boy Wonder shut down the Mighty Magee as a game after he set an all time 3 pointer record Tyler caused him to become the first player in NCAAT history to shoot 12 threes without a make.”

Then Magee couldnt even muster enough manhood to give Tyler credit.

Get ready for Rupp Arena West too bay bay!!!

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!

In honor of Herro I give you:

Lamb helped us win a championship can Herro do the same?

One thing is for sure, Wofford made it their game plan to stop Tyler today. For a freshman who would not even be in this conversation about the NBA if he had gone to Wisky, that is something.

That they did, the doubles and extended on him everytime he touched the ball. With PJ they couldn’t have tried that IMO. We would have had a wide open guy who could dribble and pass.
