Pj won’t play and the narrative will be we would have won the title had he played. Pjs in a hard cast he ain’t playing again at uk. What if he was your son?

Even with PJ in the line-up against UNC, it is going to be tough to win that game. The Tar Heels have played excellent ball that last month. Johnson is shooting nearly 47% from three and Little and White have really elevated their games.

Seems like one of the big looming questions. What do you think?
Absolutely. Anything can happen in any game. Just ask #1 seed UVA last year. If KJ and Herro are hitting threes and Nick and Reid stay out of foul trouble and if UNC gets in foul trouble and is shooting bricks...it happens!

simple answer: NO. we cannot even win the next game without him. We dodged a HUGE bullet today. We must have PJ the rest of the road or it will be a very short road

I don’t think this is true man. I think we see PJ next week... possibly on a minutes restriction first games.

Go cats!

Can? Yes. Lock down defense, some guys stepping up, and making shots can always get you through on a given night.

Likely? I'd rather have PJ for sure and know there are no promises even then. They are virtually draught proof.

I tend to agree that if they put together a solid game on the defensive end and Herro and KJ are on we’ve got a shot against anybody. I’m also assuming no PJ until further notice. Appreciate the responses.

If you play in 10 games WITH PJ, I think we win 7 or 8. I truly think we're one of the best teams in the country.

Without him, I think we win less than half, but we can get it done. I wouldn't go wagering the farm at that point though.

You are comparing UVA losing to a 16 seed last year to UK beating UNC? A team they already beat? And saying Kentucky must be playing perfect and everything has to go wrong for UNC. Got it.

We are already likely to be playing 5 on 8. Without him it will be more like 4 on 8. Just not enough production from Montgomery or Richards. You know they want a UNC/Duke championship so bad. PJ probably would have 2 fouls before the game even started if he plays.

Actually no. The question was “Can we beat UNC without PJ?” And the answer was that anything is possible. That doesn’t take anything away from us. I was advising the OP that there is no need to even ask the question. Nearly any tournament team can beat any other tourney team at any time. Put a terrible spin on it if it makes you feel smart. That’s fine with me.

Ya if herro, kj, hagans, quick. Would oop it. Instead of getting charges called on them. Tossed the ball up. Worst thing that can happen is turnover. 9 times out of 10. We reset offense, or dunk it or draw foul. Just that simple. All sounds better than picking up cheap foul. We win #9. With or without pj. Although highly unlikely. It changes. Its called bonehead decision = bonehead lost.

Can we? Sure. We beat them handily with PJ, but the team as a whole has become a defensive Juggernaut since then.

Will we? Gonna be tough.

Beating Houston without PJ will be tough Going to be tough to beat them with him. Losing 15 and 7 reb and 5 fouls to give is hard to overcome.

Lets worry about Houston or Ohio State first and also UNC has to get by Washington first tomorrow and then a very tough Auburn team next Friday. Auburn hit in the 2 games this weekend 26 for 51 from 3 point for 43%. That will beat any team next Friday night if they continue to hit 43% or better from 3 point. They are averaging 30 three attempts in the 2 NCAA Tourney games. They are playing outstanding ball right now including the SEC Tournament where they handled UT with ease, had some problems finishing off New Mexico State, and then tonight they killed Kansas. They are dangerous team right and remember we did beat Auburn twice this year and I don't know if we want to face them a third time if we get by Houston or OSU and Auburn beats either UNC or Washington.

They can and will if it comes down to that. Also not buying all of the Houston hype. Watched a couple games and they’re good. Just not Kentucky good.

If PJ doesn’t play we have won our last game IMO.

I have to agree. I think he will play against OSU/Houston and thereafter if we win. If Cal is being straight with us and there is no serious damage, he will have had 12 days to rest that foot with the best available medical treatment. He's a competitor, so yes, he does want to play and we aren't good enough to Beat Houston, UNC, UT, and Duke in that order without him. With him it would be a HUGE task, but not impossible.

I'd still rather play Auburn, with PJ, than UNC right now. Shut down their 3-p average to about 32% and we beat them unless we lay a total egg.

Is this a real question by the OP?

We just barely beat an average team whose best player literally had a historically bad game.

And he asks if we can beat a 1 seed who is playing as well as any team in the country?

Is this real life???
Once again, it's survive and advance. The Wofford game has NOTHING to do with how we will play next game. Remember embarrassing West Virginia by over 40 points then the very game came down to the last second against Notre Dame?

And Wofford is not average. Top 20 Ken Pom. Of course you give our defense no credit.

Literally no one outside this board gave us a chance @Ohio State in 2011. I've never for a second doubted you about being UK fan but that ***** getting harder by the day.

I hate to say this but gonna be honest...I dont tjink we can win a another game without PJ. Today kinda showed us that. The competition is getting too good and you have to be at full strength, get some luck, and hit on all cylinders to advance from the sweet 16

I agree with this.
