Failing to protect an 8 point lead with 3 minutes left a week before the tournament means NOTHING?

2-4 against the 1/2/3 seed quality teams on our schedule. Not promising.

Like hell. It ends any discussion for a #1 seed. It likely takes us out of Louisville. We will likely end up as a #2 for someone like Duke who we probably can't beat.

This team is not a great team and is erratic as hell. We needed a good path to make it to the final 4. Today we guaranteed we will get a rough draw. This team will probably now end up like the 2016. Sweet 16 to maybe final 8 but no further. If we were a #1 then the path would have probably been beaten down enough for us to have a shot a Final Four, especially if we drew a spot in Louisville. But that's gone now, so this was a brutal loss.

Sorry this one is on the coach, no bigger fan than me, 8 point lead, less than 3 min to go, 2 straight turnovers, coach just want call a time out, he wants freshman to play through it, sorry wrong decision, coach enjoy your 2 seed, if you Don't start utilizing your time out, I guess an elite 8, is a great season

Honestly, we had our chance. But several things happened that TN took advantage of.

It just shows any time, there is opportunity. May not always be much but TN found a way to beat us again. And I don't believe that RT is 100% but we have enough guys to play his role.

This meant a lot

Lose like we always do with poor free throw shooting, critical turnovers, and playing not to lose.

No 1 seed.

Probably no Louisville.

Might not get Columbus.

Probably playing every game in the middle of nowhere without the fan advantage.

Going into the tournament with a demoralizing loss.

This was a bad loss no matter how you spin it.

you could throw all the 1 and 2 seeds in a hat and draw them out. The OP is right. I'll take any region without Duke as long as we get good officials! I am sick of being hosed.

My point is two fold. 1. This loss is no worse than the losses to Seton Hall, Alabama or LSU at home , yet many on here said the SH or Alabama loss didn’t hurt us.
2. As some here have stated, we lost the 96 and 12 SEC tourney and won it all

This team is too inconsistent to win 6 games. Too turnover prone and and can’t attack a zone.

Tennessee needed all kinds of help to win it and they got it. We will see if the other refs across the country let his act go.

I have watched a lot of basketball this year and this weekend and UK, Duke, UNC and TN are the best four teams right now. Loss doesn’t bother me too much. UK was the better team for 37 minutes. Things happen and it was far from a brutal loss in the grand scheme of things. The only brutal loss is if they lose before April 8.

Don’t over react. It really means little. We might get a better draw as a 2 than a 1. You never know. As far as losing to the Vols. Who cares? When you have never been to FF and haven’t won’t even the SEC tourney in 40 years it’s not like you have any real bragging rights. It’s just their turn. Ask Arkansas about their turn and how it feels now. At least AR actually won a title and a few FF’s.

Damn straight. Saying this game means nothing must be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Just totally asinine.

We were a 1 seed in 2012 and 1996 the sect didn’t matter. This year it mattered. This was a demoralizing loss come tomorrow when you see the matchups you will know why. Sweet sixteen team tops

It exposed our lack of fight. We can’t close out tough games but mainly if you can’t beat Tennessee in Nashville then your probably not going past 2 weekend. The teams will be fighting hard. We just don’t fight. Really disappointing, I had high hopes for this team but it’s looking bleak.

Sunshine pumper post - we outplayed them for 37 minutes, Travis is back and appears completely healthy. We play one less game. We’re probably going to get a better bracket.

I doubt even UT fans think they’ll advance further than us in the dance.

All is not lost.

The OP is right. It’s about generational wealth. Changing families lives. Today was just a step closer to Porche’s, mansions, and swag!
