At that point he was offering no analysis of the game other than saying Syracuse could/would not stop Zion - clearly implying that Syracuse had no chance to win.

A clear-thinking commentator would surely bring up how Syracuse managed to beat them the first time, even if Zion did get his.

I get what you're saying. If you look at what he literally says then yeah, you might have a point. But my point is beyond that. It's what he's implying, what he's not saying (not doing his job as an objective analyst), how he's behaving (like a giddy schoolchild). That's the whole reason I brought it up.

So about a week ago I got a random survey from ESPN. It had the typical questions such as age, race, and gender. It started getting a little deeper asking about the college game day sponsors and what the commercials could do to get more attention but one thing really threw me off. This question is where I started wondering things. After this it asked me questions if ESPN coverage of Duke and Zion has caused me to watch more games and if I knew more of their players names. Would Duke partner with ESPN For extra coverage and pay them to market them?

If you think it is just ESPN go to the Fox Sports NCAA basketball page. There are at least 5 stories/videos about Zion.

He said "how could they stop him" answer: They obviously couldn't as he is averaging 32.5 ppg vs them and shooting around 80% from the field. Also, if you want to try and argue what he MAY have been thinking you are still wrong. Unless giving up 91 points is considered stopping someone.

We are on here discussing things, trying to figure things out and argue our case. There are these little things called inferences that people do all the time. Induction. You know, reading between the lines, picking up on what's not said, reading people's behavior and speech patterns over time. That's what I was doing. My point is he let his bias show and didn't do his job. He was so googly-eyed about Zion (just go back and listen, he can't contain himself during the first half) that he was fixated on one thing while ignoring the fact that Syracuse had beat them despite this same thing happening before. Offer up some analysis, discuss how Syracuse DID stop/contain him and the team enough to win the first go-round.

That's the point. Making inferences or actually taking him at his word you were still wrong lol. Semantics I suppose, have a good day, go blue!

We have threads of how he is over rated. How we are better off without him, didn’t want him.

My issue is becoming, do ratings even matter? I’m not so sure anymore.

ESPN has lost mad viewership. It’s not stopping them one bit. As a matter of fact in comes Zucker who destroyed CNN, so they’re obviously not concerned with it. ESPN is even hiring people that tanked other networks.

It’s very confusing. Maybe it just takes a while for the reality to set in where advertisers start pulling out.

I don’t get it. Wish I did. All I’ve ever heard is viewership is all that matters but the evidence suggest not.

I think a lot of it is political. And I feel like I can say that without trying to be political but I won’t hide from it because it makes someone uncomfortable.

Social media is an attack wing of one side of politics. The corporations know it, they bow to it. People assume the platform of that ideology will frighten corporations but it won’t, because the devil is in the details. The most wealthy among us will be exempt from any socialistic practice through the tax structure, it will only effect average millionaires and less.

That’s not effecting the largest corporations.

Seems like they’ve moved on from needing viewership and don’t care, because the advertisers don’t care. Because there’s a much larger scheme taking place where the Uber wealthy will be more powerful at the end of it all.

LBJ was and probably will always be the best HS player I have ever seen. He was a franchise player at 18. There was no doubt he was a superstar.
