Putting our Kentucky Pride aside for just for a quick second and you wasn’t a UK fan and part of the BBN, is there any basketball program in the nation that has gained your respect for their body of work as a program and the accomplishments they have obtained?

Gonzaga has certainly earned my respect, as a program, in recent years.

That's certainly NOT to say that they should be a No. 1 seen in this year's NCAA tournament ... but that wasn't the OP's question.

Not giving you any pushback or arguing, but I'm generally curious as to why?
I like their coach. Have to recruit in the acc and still ranked year after year. Never heard any issues from their team. Seems like they do it the good ole hard way. I have heard Gonzaga uses bs classes so I couldn’t include them

I'm a UK fan first and foremost, but I'm a college basketball fan, too. It's hard to root for any but Kentucky, however I admire Virginia, and Gonzaga.

I listened to Buzz on Jim Rome couple of months ago and really liked him. I was never really a fan of him before that but he’s well read and mentioned a few books/authors he uses in his life daily that I have read as well

He seems like a great motivator and a natural leader. He has a team that competes every time out...or at least when I’ve watched them

It wouldn't be a single team in the ACC. Between all of the cheating and ESPN constantly pushing their agenda, I don't give a crap about any team in that conference. I don't really know anyone I would pick besides my own team. It would probably be some mid major not named Gonzaga. They always have a power 5 roster with a mid major schedule.

Hmm. Even though they were bitter rivals, I always respected a lot of Donovan’s UF teams. always wanted to beat them too. But Donavan had some monster teams down there a few years. And Billy D could coach really good games that would give any team fits.

Villanova is on that list as well. Zags are up there too.

Buzz Williams is a heckavu good coach. Any school would be lucky to have him

If Kentucky weren’t so hated nationally I’d probably respect some other programs, but a lot of fans I meet of other programs are ******** and/or hate UK. Obviously not all of them hate UK and a large portion of fans aren’t jerks, but I’ve had enough run ins in my life to not give a damn about any other program.

I’m in Nashville and have had two different fans scream f*** UK in my face while I was standing on the sidewalk looking at my phone. Same thing happened last year while I was in Charleston on spring break during the SEC Tournament.

Also, don’t get me started on the elitist attitudes many media conglomerates and national journalists have that lends to having bias against Cal and Kentucky. It’s not some huge conspiracy I believe in but there’s a reason the UNC’s and Dukes of the world seem to get preferential treatment.

I have a Kentucky against the world mentality pretty much. Proud of it.

Quite a few.

Villanova
Michigan
Michigan St
Xavier
Florida
Purdue
Virginia
Gonzaga

Just off the top of my head. These are solid programs that seem to stay out of the one and done stuff, and also seem to run clean programs for the most part.

If I had to pick, Villanova and Butler comes to mind, both had pretty good teams for a 4 year period for sure

Michigan St would have been the top of that list, but the cover ups of assault on their hoops team took them off

I want to say Virginia, but is it respectable to be the first #1 seed to lose to a #16

Maybe Gonzaga? Only one real tourney run. They should have a good regular season since the play middle school teams...

I like that Belmont is relevant every year in their conference, but again, not a lot of competition.

Butler when they had Brad Stevens definitely had it. But that was the coach more than the program.

All in all, nope. Noe one else can keep my respect
