Yes. The trend is every time we go up big on teams we win every time. A good trend to have.
They just didn't have that edge tonight. Mizzo tried to ugly the game up and they did. We should be fine as long as Travis is fine. Please let RT be ok.
It's strange that when many on here notice that their fellow fans try and critique the cats' play, they get personally offended like someone just made a fat joke about their mama.
You could tell he was ready to get the hell out of there. It was the 2nd fewest shots we have taken in a game in the Cal era. We attempted 1 FG in the last 7 minutes. That is just crazy. Glad for the win and just hope Travis is ok and not wasted on these dirty bums.
His way is certainly not the only way to do it, but those of you acting like Cal's conservative schemes up 20 are this weakness to be exploited are missing the point. They're a big reason why he wins at such a crazy rate.

When he gets up on the lead, he goes into bend not break mode. He's installing a dime package, gambling that even if the new pace will ruin our offense and let the other team slowly cut into the lead, it won't happen nearly quick enough for the game result to change. And he's almost always right.
Even if you don't find it entertaining (does anybody?) it's not like it doesn't work.

Did not get to see the second half, is it the team or Cal, he has a bad habit of slowing down the offense with a lead and then we run out of shot clock and take bad shots. To me that is his one major flaw at times.
Final margin has nothing to do with it. It is the way the team plays, stupid turnovers, shot clock violations, out rebounded is not acceptable. You can still play smart, hustle and rebound.
The same people whine about us getting off to a slow start in games. Now we coast to victories and people have the sadz. Amazing. Nobody will be happy until we win the title game against Duke by 44.
Call does have a tendency to slow the game with a lead. But there was some bad offensive possessions that led to the lead shrinking.
Tennessee is NOT the best team in the nation. They were ranked there due to playing nobody all year. Just as we were ranked #1 at the beginning of the year, we clearly weren't the best team. Sorry.
Wow. I don't get some folks. UK on the road. Reid Travis gets hurt. PJ out late in the game with cramps. UK wins by 8 and you'd think they lost.

The fact is the line was 11. That's how many points better (give or take a few points eitherway) that we are compared to Missouri.
So we win by 8. We've essentially done exactly what was expected going into that game.

According to ESPN and the media they were. Regardless, top5, i really don't care lol. The point was that Kentucky did something it often can't and that's beat the #1 ranked team in the nation... by a good amount.

PJ wasn't as effective as has been in recent games, 18 points on 13 shots and 3 turnovers, which exasperated our offensive struggles. This strategy has been a common issue in recent games. We saw it in the second half of the Mississippi State game and the LSU game. We get tunnel vision on offense and try to play everything through the paint. The opponent sits on it and punishes us by forcing turnovers and crappy, contested two pointers.

at 4:40 left to play, they had gone flat and scored 4 points.. 56. Oddly enough, Mizz didn't do much here, because that whole stretch was a lot of falling and hard fouls. The whole game was mucked up.
It's not rocket science to see what happened. Duke lost it's PG (which they really don't need) and they lost to Syracuse.. at home. Injuries will throw an entire game around.

It worked in the first half well..........but they had the Missouri coach mic'd up and he even said to his team at the halftime they had to do better on PJ. It was clear that was the focus going into that second half.
We do tend to get tunnel vision sometimes with PJ tho. Guys like Johnson and Herro still have to contribute. If Hagans didn't have a good 2nd half, we could have been in a bit of trouble.

I can't say on this game, I had to hit the sack, I get up early in the AM for work, but I have seen him slow it down and then they take bad shots because the clock is running down. I wish he would just let them play, I could see taking 10 seconds off then start the offense with 20 so they can get into a good set.
The UT comeback was almost exclusively on unforced errors on our part (multiple fouls on 3pt shooters).
That is an easy fix.
He just likes to ***** and moan like Calisthebomb and Zaytovencat , there happy when Uk struggling or loses so they can complain about Cal or the players
That is one thing I liked about Pitino....he never backed off the lead.
If you’re treating that as your main takeaway of the game then that’s just a poor way of viewing the game though. The first 25-30 minutes isn’t all negated by the last 10 unless you lose or blow the lead. Neither of those came close to happening.
They won 19 straight. Who else in a P5 conference had? Don’t try to discount our win.
I'm not discounting anything ***. I'm just saying they are not and were not the best team in the nation. Everyone in America knows the team that shall not be named is the best team in the nation. It is what it is. Keep it real and accept it. Tennessee was a good win, not discounting it, but they arent the best team in the nation.

There’s no need. I said simply don’t discount the win in similar fashion as Cal hushing the chant OVER-RATED. They were ranked #1 and we bullied them and made them look weaker than their record. They are still holding the 1 line and that means a lot of experts see them as credible contenders.
You really need to get better with the insults. You were wrong, get over it. Facts are facts. Tennessee isnt nor was the best team in the nation. They are undersized and had only played maybe 1 top 25 team up to almost March. Anyone looking at stats could see that. Everyone knew it but maybe you. But that's not surprising honestly.
