This sets up a compelling narrative for our meeting(s) with U.T. Hopefully we at least split those two games and don't have to have SEC Tourney performance determine our seeding fate (b/c we all know how that works out for us.) o_O

Surprised Michigan St dropped to 9 after that good loss at home to IU

Michigan State lost their key star, Langford, for the rest of the season. They won't be anywhere near as good, so they will eventually drop further. Michigan seems to be getting the respect because of only 2 losses but again the UK78 view is that home losses should be weighted to count more against a team's record. So, losing to Indiana should have counted more since it was at home.

Interesting set up heading into February.

ACC winner probably grabs a 1, runner up a 2. Same for us in the SEC. Assuming no other big upsets between those four.

If we can sweep UT, I’m guessing we get the 1 in the South with UVA as our 2.

I’ll take 5 if we keep winning cause Virginia or Duke is going to lose soon!

Speaking of that they were showing Dukes next few games and the win percentage on ESPN. I was shocked that they had Duke as a 71% chance of winning at Virginia and only 67% chance of winning at Louisville.

I understand you said "If".....still, that's a tall order. #1 team in the country, only one loss all year - to beat them not only at home but also at their place, not sure how realistic that is. Hope so!

Years past it didn’t matter who won the championship because it was played on Sunday afternoon. The committee members already made their selections. The Cats got screwed many times after winning it.

TV likes top 5 match ups. They can hype it up. If it hadn't been for this, I'm not sure UK would be in the top 5 yet.

I don't see us sweeping UT.

I'll take that. UVA will never make it to the EE. They can only win one way. Either way, I think we beat UVA.

The Cats just need to keep winning. The seeding will take care of itself. I don’t see the bias considering that UK lost to Alabama and Seton Hall (who continues to lose games). Those are negative losses.

Just keep getting better and playing with great effort and they will be in great standing when it counts.

Setting aside my own media-bias-PTSD, I actually agree with you here. We are the highest ranked 3 loss team, so we don't really have much to complain about here.

UVA is solid and will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. Basically the same team last year with uninjured future NBA player in Hunter. Jerome and Guy are a solid high IQ backcourt, Hunter a beast on the wing and Salt is solid in the post. Bennett has them playing at a real high level, think they will beat pUKe. Would be a great Elite Eight matchup that is for sure. if we were to play today 50/50...come March we got them.
Be very interesting if it comes down to two SEC teams and two ACC teams as number ones. Crazy to think that with SEC and ACC tourneys that a possibLe 4th game played between 2 teams can happen twice...has that happened before? Has it ever even happened once?

^ talking about UVA in the elite 8 [laughing]

Exactly. They are the new Gonzaga. Until they prove they can win in March, nobody should take them seriously. Gonzaga got over that hump a couple of years ago. Villanova got over that hump with a vengeance before that.

Is this the year that UVA actually does something in the tournament?
