Thinking of making the trip.

For those that have been, are the cheap seats OK there.

Didn't they change the arena like a year ago ? Before the cheap seats were still good but now I am not sure. I have seen UK play there maybe 10 times but the last time was 2-3 years ago.

I've never been there, but they did have a renovation of some sort in the arena.

Yeah I am not sure if that changed the seats or not . I just know they played some games here in Jax a season or 2 ago due to it . But I used to get just average seats most of the time when I saw UK play there and I enjoyed them always. Watching the 12' team there was something I will never forget . I have thankfully seen all 3 title teams of my lifetime play in person in gville .

Hopefully weather allows me to fly out Saturday morning at 7:00AM, Cincinnati. See ya down there. My FLA buddies said there’s not a bad seat in the house. I have upper arena season tickets in Rupp (213) so anything should be better than those.

I haven't been to the O-Dome for a game since Willie damn near took the ceiling down with him on that dunk in 2015. But from what I recall there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's a great size arena in terms of providing atmosphere and their fans go crazy when we're in town for a game.

Sadly I have to work . I always hate when UK plays at UF first ( as they rotate every year ) as for whatever reason work is much more hectic during Febuary then early March so when UK goes to UF in March I make it usually but when it is in Febuary I can't. Trust me I have thought of this too as I have seen UK play live maybe 15 times but 10 or those 15 were in the 3 title years so there is something ( at least in my head ) to UK winning a title and me seeing them live . Saw UK play like 6 times in 96 - coincidence that was the best college team of my lifetime ? I think not [winking]

As others have said O' Dome is small enough so not really a bad seat, and from what I understand the renovations did not increase capacity.

When I went back in '10 or 11' I was basically in last row of upper deck and was okay with seat and sightlines other than the fact that I believe the seat itself was a bleacher, so comfort level wasn't the greatest. I doubt those are still there now.

Heading down from Jacksonville. Went to the game last year and there isn't a bad seat in the house. They made renovations and are trying to catch up with the CATS' pregame vids/effects. About 8 years too late........GO CATS

Staying at Hilton Garden Inn on Southbank. No budget. Heard good things about Avondale/ Riverside area.

Any suggestions?
Avondale has great places, Mellow Mushroom if you want pizza, and Mojo for BBQ. If you drink MoJo also has amazing selection of bourbon. There’s Brick if you want nice upscale American but not fine dining. Just stay away from downtown, not much there. And closer to your hotel is San Marco area which is cool and even closer to you are Charthouse and Ruth Chris if you want to spend a little more. And from there best way to Gainesville is I-10 to 301

Getting back to the OP as others have said there’s not a bad seat. Been to about 12 or so games there’s going back to 98 where I sat 4th row in the early rowdy reptile section and we blew them out. Also sat very last row in the place on top which is cool because nobody’s behind you and you can lean on the wall.

In 2015 we sat in the top row in the corner and could see fine. That was pre-renovation but I don’t think the place is big enough to have anything too bad.

It shares the building with the school swimming pool. The most notable thing about the building is the strong smell of chlorine. The most notable thing about the area is the 'Dare to Bare' strip and breakfast in Micanopy.

For UK, the place will be packed.
