The one picture with Coach k I believe is pretty accurate for midsummer he trimmed up a little. As the season has gone on he's added The freshman 15

K landed two legit studs in this class. I know we're used to most of his elites busting, but I don't think that will be the case with either RJ or Zion. Both of these guys will be franchise-level players. Superstars? Maybe. The foundation is there for both of them.

The bigger story is that after all his wins, protection, and backing from corporate America, K will go into the history books with but a handful of legitimate NBA franchise-level players: Hill, Irving, Tatum, Bagley, and now probably Zion, Carey and RJ. 5/7ths of those guys were provided by the Nike/Team USA machine, and only in the last few years. Kind of pathetic, actually.

Lol at Carey being a franchise level NBA player.

You guys are acting like 30 pounds is a crazy assessment. PJ Washington has lost 25 lb since he first became a wildcat. Zion has quite a bit more weight on him To lose than PJ did

The LAST thing I care about or think about in regards to Duke basketball is how well they do in the NBA. If they do well, that’s great. It’s icing on the cake if anything. I guess it’s just two different philosophies and that’s ok. I just don’t understand it. I’m happy for Kyrie but I would rather have won a National Title with him at Duke.

When Zion Weighs in at the combine I bet he hasn't lost a pound. The athleticism he has will cause his body unseen stress on his body. A guy his weight has never been able to do what he does, by the time he is 30 he will be a shell of what he is now. Probably before then.

Highly doubtful Zion attends the NBA combine.

What position does Giannis Antetokounmpo play?
What position does LeBron really play?

To what extent does it even matter?

Zion Williamson already handles the ball the way a 2 guard is required to in the pros. It's one of the things that sets him apart. Now, he probably doesn't have the playmaking skills to do the type of point forward thing that LeBron and Giannis do, but the main thing is that his skills let him leave the box where you say "oh, he has to be a power forward". No, he doesn't, because he's more than capable of making plays from anywhere on the floor.
Zions handles are no where near the ability of the players you listed or the level required to be an NBA 2. Mr. mj2k10, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

OOOH, you hit me with a Sandler quote!! That just clinches it!!!!

I mean, yeah, Williamson is a 6'6"-6'7" allegedly fat and undersized power forward who's being projected as the #1 overall pick in the draft by every single scout on the planet, and is the overwhelming favorite for national POY in college, but I'm the moron for not seeing how much he actually sucks.

I guess I'm just not quite as special as you.

Because we all know #1 picks always pan out...... Let's see Zion play 40-44 minutes a game in the NBA 82 games a year before we crown him king. Guy is winded as hell by games end playing less than 30 minutes a game in a slower paced college game. Is he a freak athlete, yes, Is he a size unlike anyone else we've seen, yes. What he isn't is skilled like a 2 guard, that's what you claimed he was.

Here: Find a current mock draft, from anyone, that has anyone but Zion Williamson as the #1 overall pick.
Then: explain to me why $Z71$ is such a monumentally better scout than every single one of those people.

Moron.

Wait, he is winded? I don't see that. He DOES lean very oddly when he moves... he keeps his arms strangely straight, and leans over at the waist... its a VERY odd gait. But I don't see winded.

Watch Syracuse game. 12-6 minutes left. There were possession where he walked up the floor multiple times behind the ball handler and on defense too. He got his shot blocked several times and even did a lay up instead of a dunk on a fast break. If you watch him and can’t see him sucking air if he plays more than an 8 minute stretch then you just don’t want to see it. There’s a reason he was averaging only 26 minutes a game before jones got hurt. It’s up to 27.8 now.

@mj2k10 triggered much. I didn’t say Zion isn’t going to go #1 reading comprehension for the win. He isn’t skilled like a 2 or anything at all like Lebron or the Greek freak. NBA drafts on potential. Time will tell how he performs in the NBA. Fanboy status achieved for you.

So a 6'7" (at best) PF, who is fat, can't shoot, and has no similarities to any really tall NBA player who's great off the dribble, is going to be the #1 overall pick, a reality you choose not to challenge?

Did you feed NBA GM's LSD? Bccause why in God's name would any of them take the player you describe #1 overall?

I'm a fanboy of realism. Zion Williamson has been insanely good so far, and looks to have an insane amount of ability. Attempts to deny that are, in varying forms, an attempt to deny reality. And I generally have respect for reality.

I’ve watched every second of the season, including the Canada trip. I haven’t seen anything from Zion that makes me think he is somehow in much worse shape than any other freshman or anything that makes me think he will fail at the next level because of conditioning or being fat.

PTI just did an over/under segment on Zion FG% at the end of the season, 65%.

Where did I say he was fat, can’t shoot or anything of that sort. Please show me. I said he isn’t conditioned currently to play 40-44 minutes and that he doesn’t have the skills of an NBA 2 which I guarantee every NBA scout would agree with. It’s not rocket science.

Just FYI there’s not a single player in the league who played 40 mpg this season. There’s only three this year who play 37. Players usually get more rest in the NBA during games due to the rotations NBA teams stick pretty close to.
