Basketbowl 2003

[David Rice]

I was wondering since it was the most attended basketball at the time, how many of you went to the game?

[Glenn's Take]

I did. @gojvc had moved up there for a few years and we took 6 of us up to go to the game. The seating arrangement was terrible. Our seats were in the endzone and the court was placed a midfield. I was basically at the same level of the court but 40 yards away. I couldn't tell if someone was under the basket or at mid court. I watched it on the monitors.

[Glenn's Take]

I actually still have this pinned to a lamp shade.

I was there. Only UK Basketball game I've ever been to that wasn't in Rupp Arena. We sat right in the middle of a bunch of Michigan State fans. Had a blast!

[David Rice]

I remember the announcement that we broke the record and we won the game.

[Bkocats]

I was there. Three rows behind our bench
Lot of great fans on both sides
Had a blast

[gojvc]

As Glenn said, I was there. One of the finer memories of my time in Michigan.

[ZakkW]

I attended. Bob Seger's saxophonist played the anthem and John L. Smith took the mic at halftime and popped off about UK fans after getting booed.

[Jamal Mercer]

I was there. Loved it. Only an hour south of me. Wish they played in Michigan more often.

Before that, I believe it was the loss to UMass at the palace in 95. Was there as well.

[morgousky]

Can’t believe that game was 16 years ago.

Gettin old quick.

[flacat22]

Gray alternate jerseys?

[ruppslegacy1]

I was there with my dad. Horrible seats as mentioned before. Like 10 rows back but 60 yards front the court. Could not really make out what was happening most of the game but hey at least we won

[wcc31]

I was there. Watched the entire game on the jumbo tron.

[RoyKnowsBest]

Is that still the current record?

[gojvc]

Gray alternate jerseys?

Wore blue that day. The grey alternates were the previous season when we played them at Rupp Arena.

[Glenn's Take]

I would bet that if challenged,I could find my game program for it. Back when I used to do stupid stuff like buy game programs for every game.

My pin is on the lampshade in my bedroom. I actually just posted a thread in the football forum about pins. For a couple years in the early 90's you got all time player pins when you bought a program at the football games.

[legalbeagle123]

I was there with some of the worst seats known to man.

[Glenn's Take]

There is nothing wrong with the stadium. The seats were horrible because of the configuration they used to try to break the record.

[UpstateNYCat]

I bought tickets but never actually planned on going, was living in Texas at the time. Just wanted a souvinir for the occassion.

[ZakkW]

Is that still the current record?

No, an NBA All-Star game played at AT&T Stadium now holds the record
