Man.

Someone check on @Century Cat ? Happy for that guy, most of all.

[cheers]

Thank you, sir. Mostly in mild shock, but ecstatic. Been reading and liking a lot of posts.

Was texting with a Cat fan buddy who lives in Charlotte who went to the game. Before the game he sent me a sample pic of some UNC fan's "7 national championships" shirt who was sitting in front of him. Even though I know it exists, that makes me so livid I can barely speak. Glad CBS got it right during the telecast, at 8-6.

Leach asked Cal on radio pre-game what had changed in practice over the last week. Cal said we're finally making the extra pass and looking for the man who has the best shot. Finally looking like a team.

I kind of wrote it off as typical Cal-speak but man it was remarkably evident tonight. We looked like a different team. It's been a while since a UK team has looked so unselfish and so concerned with finding THE best shot.

Losses don't bum me out nearly as much as playing with no heart, getting outrebounded and outhustled as we did in the Duke game. That's now been 6+ weeks, finally in the rear-view mirror.

The season began today, boys. Let's Fn GO.

LSU’s starting running back (and another walk on) shot and killed a guy today, supposedly in self defense.

Pretty good story developing.

Over early. UNC gets any decent look they want. Its double digits at half and probably stays that way throughout.

Almost had it if you had picked the right team.

Hopefully the game yesterday will make some of you guys take your balls out of the sock drawer for the rest of the season.

Place hasn’t been worth lurking for weeks.

Hagans was an absolute berserker on defense and Johnson and Herro both had two steals a piece, too.

I'll take 11 steals a game from our starting backcourt any time I can get it.

I’m ecstatic to be wrong about my prediction! On paper, and based on the trajectory of both teams to that point, I was legitimately concerned about yesterday’s outcome. All anybody in here wanted to see was some momentum in the right direction and we by God got it!

Hagans has a different gear. You never know what he’ll do in that gear but he has that unique explosion to his game that there do not.

I was never going to get too redassed about Reid Travis personally. I was worried that he’d catch hell from the fan base because he didn’t “fit” with the style of play we run. Extremely happy to be wrong about that too. That gentleman can run and make stuff happen while also beasting in the paint. Happy for him!

Herro will make big shots in conference play. He’s close.

- On my way to enjoy some beef rib roast and family time. May sneak some brown water in there as well (sweet tea!). I’ll be feasting with a poster named cat chaser. We’re so mature!

I was weirdly impressed with Baker, tbh. Sure, he had the awful TO late & didn’t make his shots, but typically “new” guys in his situation look like they’ve never played basketball before.

Dude looked like he belonged out there, was fluid and showed a pretty decent handle I thought. I understand that’s a pretty low bar to set for a college basketball player, but the kid has played 15 minutes in 2 years.

Looks like he may actually be a part of the team going forward. :)

It is absolutely amazing what a great Kentucky Basketball win will do for one's psyche. Had a rough couple of months, and this morning I'm bouncing around the house, Beasties and Paul's Boutique blasting in the background, acting like a complete goofball and driving my kids nuts. And it was all because of that amazing ***-kicking yesterday!!!

The most obvious difference out of the gate was the team playing as a cohesive unit, not five guys who just met at the park yesterday. Refreshing to see spacing, ball movement and effort all ratcheted up from the jump.

Also helps to have a semblance of an offense and properly using your bigs.

So the most recognized sports talk show host in the state and voice of all things UK, who frequents this board from time to time creates a burner account to defend his laughable Herro take, flies in here under said account to defend himself, immediately gets busted, then deletes it in hopes no one makes the connection. I got that right? What a wafer-thin skinned *****. Have fun running for public office!
