You’re going to get ripped, but you are right. We have already hit our peak with Cal. We may have good teams, but our days as a consistent title contender are effectively over.

Going to have to start cheating the Duke and Carolina way if we want the top players with no repercussions.

If you think the recruits we are getting the last couple years can compete for championships or go to final fours you’re all kinds of wrong. He needs elite players to win.
Volume recruiting is not the same as quality recruiting. He's always going to be at the top of the rankings, because he's bringing in so many guys every year. In his "top 2" class this year, there is only one impact guy. Every other player in that class should be a role player, at best, as a freshman in college.
My other beloved team, the Bengals, don't seem to know when to move on. Should've moved on from Marvin years ago.
Hopefully we don't experience the same problem with Cal. As another poster stated after the Duke drubbing, that signified the beginning of the end. UNC will pound us. Kansas will curb stomp us. It's going to be a long year.

This year will be Cal's 6th (out of 10) at UK with 9+ losses.
In the same time UNC has 4, KU has 2, Duke has 3, Villanova has 3, UL has 4

Getting a top 2 class doesn’t matter if you don’t return anyone. Or if you return players who do virtually nothing positive. Richards and Green have been duds. Last year was the same way. Can’t win with the way he’s recruiting unless you get a guy who separates himself.
And we are still terrible.
What evidence do you have that makes you think our program isn't on the downturn under Coach Cal? What evidence do you have that he can realistically still win another title here with the recruits he is now getting? Like in any relationship, you kinda know when your best years together are behind you. It's in the best interest of both parties to cut the rope and move on sooner, rather than later before it gets ugly. If not, it will get ugly and end badly, I don't think UK or Coach Cal would be happy with that.

I agree Cal needs far superior talent to win and then it's a crap shoot!
I can respect it. I stopped watching the Bengals 3 years ago. Not watching again until Marvin Lewis is gone. I don't regret that one bit. Still a fan. Can't wait to watch again. Just can't do it with him at the helm. If someone feels that way about Cal, they have every right to take a break.
Draft picks hasn't brought many championships here, that is the most overrated word associated with the program now. Losing to teams like this with a so called loaded roster it what gripes my a**.
I really thought I wanted Cal here until he retI red but sadly I can't disagree with this. The last few years have been ugly basketball plus lots of losses. Time for a change.

Why does it have to be Cal's fault? The guy is playing a game where only "1" team is the best at the end of the season. This game is not easy nor any better with a change in coaching staff.
