Few weeks back, lass calls and tells me a Kroger by her work had 73 bottles of Weller 12 and was raffling them off if I wanted to meet her. So, I did and I’ve never felt like a bigger loser in my life. 400 people there ... for a chance to buy a $30 bourbon. It was awful. That ended any chance of me ever becoming a true bourbon nerd.
I guess if you have the $$$ to blow, bourbon is as good to spend on as anything else. But my Rip 10-year isn’t $300 better than my Col. Taylor Small Batch- I know that.

-nothing wrong with spending on stuff that makes you happy, life is short. My love of quality/well made *things* is well documented...and appropriately ridiculed. That said dropping real money on booze/waygu/other consumables on the reg blows my mind. Not judging at all...just no comprende.
If you spend $1800 on a bottle of booze, I will judge the **** out of you. Believe that.
The two non-UK games I'd be watching today if I didn't have to drive out to the country to eat a bunch of food with a house full of tragically sober Baptists: Tennessee (-8½) - #BIRDGANG and Duke (-7½) - Zags.
The plan is to put my time in on Wednesday/Thursday, so that I'm free to drink beer and watch sports on Friday/Saturday.

When you can buy a bottle for $650 and sell it for $800 it’s an investment. I’m not opening this bottle, but I am signing up at Kroger on Friday for a chance to buy a bottle(hopefully at normal prices) that I’d be willing to drink.
I’ve always preferred bourbon to any alcohol. Which I’m not an everyday drinker nor the type that wants to drink all day. Two or three glasses to end a stressful day, UK games, and holidays.
Surprisingly my wife let me live........of course I’m in charge of food for her families thanksgiving now, and she wants to open and drink it because “it’s that much for a reason”. I can’t even be mad, or even defend myself, when she says “how would you feel if I brought home a $700 purse, but wasn’t going to use it because it cost so much”.
Still truly impressed this liquor store 1 mile from my house had Old Fitz, Stagg, Pappy, Kentucky Owl and some other high priced bottle I can’t remember now on the shelf!

Having that side of the family over on Friday since we go to my sister's house in Ft. Thomas on Thanksgiving.
Lots of gluten frees and a few vegetarians on the wife's side, so I will be air frying some tofu with buffalo sauce for those freaks & smoking some wings for normal peeps.
Smoke roasting a couple of trip tips and a chicken for tacos. (black beans, corn, and diced avocados for the veg heads). Getting all of the fixings, sides and tortillas from my friends at Tortillaria Garcia.
I told everyone to bring something to help me stock the bar.
* I'm in charge of sweet potato bon bons on Thanksgiving. Basically mashed yams wrapped around a marshmallow, coated in cornflakes and baked with a pecan on top. I'm sure Adrian would hate it, so I will enjoy it even more.

If I wasn’t allowed to resell it for a profit, I wouldn’t give $1,800 for all the bourbon that I could fit in the trunk of my car.

Chad's wife stories crack me up - chick doesn't seem like a fast learner when it comes to he & his UK stuff. I lol replaying the moment in my head in which she walks in the room and tells him she has a nice group dinner planned during the UK/Louisville game. [jumpingsmile]

- I think all these liquor stores going to raffles and **** is lame. Put them on the shelf and if you’re lucky or dogged enough, you’ll get them. Of course, it’s probably because these bourbon nerd social media groups call the flocks and ruin it.

Well to be fair, you had UK sports worked into your wedding vows (which is amazing), but I don’t remember her having to put up with anymore sports.

Our ball defense is improving. We're over-pursuing the first dribble and giving up the cut-back lane, but these kids are starting to understand their own lateral quickness.
