I know it's early and only 4 games in, but I don't see a FF caliber team. Guard play is meh. Defense is just awful.
I am not seeing anything close to an offense being run.
I don't see that the Bahamas trip benefited this team at all.
I know it can change and likely will, but man, there are a lot if issues with this team and don't know if some of these issues are fixable enough to get this team to championship level.
I am prepared for the bashing that may come.

If I were to be honest, I’m not quite sure either.

We’re not nearly as athletic as I thought we would be.

We have a lot of nice, solid, good players. I’m just not sure we have any explosive, athletic players that we can point to and say get him the ball in crunch time.

A Final Four berth would be a great accomplishment imo.

I’m just going to enjoy watching this team get better and better. If they don’t, there’s always next year.

Some people said we were good enough at guard without Tyrese Maxey and athletic enough without Diallo back.

Our offense is actually pretty great for not having our PG situation sorted out and our best shooter playing poorly.

Defense always takes time. As Hagans gets more comfortable in the spot that will eventually be his and Montgomery learns to maintain his energy and focus with starter minutes, we'll be fine there too.

We aren't the most talented team in the country, but how often does that win it all? We'll have a say in who cuts down the nets if we stay healthy.

Guard play is sorting its self out. IQ and Quade are starting to separate themselves. It’s not even Thanksgiving. We really won’t know how much they’ve come along until Dec 22nd.

This is a good post.

I believe Herro and Montgomery are going to really have to play like they’re capable if we’re going to be true contenders.

We are in bottom 10 of 3 pointers taken.

LOL. You've totally lost it. 9 wasted possessions shooting threes last night. Project it out to your 50 threes per game wanted and we'd have been about 17 for 50, with THIRTY THREE wasted possessions with no chance of a foul or easy points. But hey, all you want is personal enjoyment, seeing 3's jacked over and over. Go watch the NBA.

Or cheer for VMI - that's pretty much all they did last night was launch (and hit) threes...

Enjoy your second round loss with swaggy Cal. Hey, he will have a book tour, and the freshmen will be on KSR. We are the gold standard.

Big issue with us as fans as I see it, is last year we kept telling ourselves maybe by March this team will be a contender in spite of watching horrible basketball for pretty much the entire year. Had a nice run in the SEC tournament but still turned out to not be a factor in the big dance. 2 of the last 3 years we haven’t been a contender. This year we all kinda thought we weren’t going to have to suffer through terrible basketball early on. But here we are.

We are much more athletic than we are showing. Reid does play below the rim.
But Washington, Montgomery, Johnson, Herro, Hagan's, Richards, Quickley can all explode.

Once this team figures out defense turns into easy running offense we will be fine.
We have size, strength, and athleticism on this team.

We still have 3 freshmen out there at most times and it is Reids first year in this system.

When they all get on the same page they can be a special team.

Seriously? Maxey? Great player, but not the answer to our problems. He'd be having the same growing pains that the other young guards are having.

You guys gotta give this at least another 6 weeks. We'll know by early-mid January if this team has it or not. I hate waiting too, but that's the nature of the beast given how Cal constructs these teams.

You would whine no matter if Ky was taking 50 threes per game. It would be something else. You are what they call a whiner or a cry baby. Your life must suck.

That is nice.

Do you think we should open up the offense some? Shoot more 3's? Or is 335 good?

Some of ya'll are such pussies. And I'm not talking about the OP and others who have legitimate concerns -- I'm talking about the ones that just can't stand it when anyone has anything other than blind praise for our team.

We should have shot 50 threes last night. We gotta get that sorted out, PRONTO. Getting Baker back will be paramount to those aspirations.
