I actually think Sutton did the most damage. Gillespie was only there for 2 years, and didn't put Kentucky on probation. He obviously couldn't coach as well as Sutton, but he left Calipari more than Sutton left Pitino. In addition, at least he didn't have a losing season.

Agree with the responses but if phrased another way, I think Pitino is the one I like the least. Sutton and Gillispie had/have a lot of personal demons that they didn't have control of, and made them a very bad fit for this job. I've never heard anyone accuse Sutton of being unkind to anyone. Billy was just a mess, almost bi-polar, treating people like crap one day and then going completely overboard with an act of kindness toward a stranger. Pitino is screwed up too, but he's a narcissistic, egomaniac who is calculating in everything he does.

To your 1st question. Pitino

To your 2nd question. Sutton by far did the most damage. Gillispie was well on his way to making UK another Indiana. Pitino did no damage to UK.

Those two seasons have officially been dubbed "The Billy G Error". It did make us 10% tougher as a fanbase, though.

Agree.

Not sure how much Sutton was directly responsible for anything, but it was all under his watch. Clyde wasn't here long enough to do any lasting harm, and might have been a positive in that he forced a drastic change of direction.

Pitino did no harm at all to UK, and his tenure was, other than the constant nagging question of when he would leave, the 2nd best run in UK history.

But current day, Pitino is truly pathetic. Talk about someone who never learned anything.
