I don’t work in the type of place that sells cheese sticks or potato skins, you plebeian. To answer your question, any appetizer you put ketchup or ranch on at a seafood joint. Shrimp, conch, tuna, etc.

You’re welcome WilliamJ. Someone has to do it.

FINE dining. No room for cheese sticks when you have delecasies like chicken strips and honey mustard.

Finally home after a whirlwind fall break. Never in my life thought I’d get to eat at fudpuckers in Destin and ride the gatlinburg skylift in the same 48 hours, but here we are. The Coca Cola world and Chattanooga aquarium were nice, and places we wouldn’t normally go to so it was cool to get to do something new. Kids had fun too, which was what it was all about. I was feeling super guilty about the historic hurricane ruining their vacation, as we’d been counting down to it for months. But, it was a weird random week that none of us will ever forget. Contemplated going back Wednesday but to be honest I would’ve felt kinda guilty or something about lying on the beach while half an hour away people had their lives literally ripped apart. So we opted for, you guessed it, gatlinburg baby.

Gatlinburg always delivers, even though it was about 25 degrees cooler than Florida and we hadn’t packed any cool weather clothes. Don’t think my “stand for the gays, kneel for the flag” shirt went over great but we made it home in one piece.

Well you have to have SOMETHING for kids, college age girls and midwesterners, bubba. We also serve Busch Light because the fire department loves that stuff. So needless to say, you’d be at home there.

Mrs Dougan and I thoroughly enjoyed the Grouper sandwiches at your restaurant, Rogue. The fries were run-of-the-mill coated Sysco specials, but it is South Florida. I think I had about 13 iced teas because I was ungodly hungover, so I didn’t get to try the Busch Lite.

On stressful days at work, I truly daydream of being Doug Coughlin — mid 40s, slinging mai thais and staring at titties for a living. Hawaiian shirts and flops, bagging the occasional rich tourist trust fund skeez.

I’d love to think that’s rogues life, I really would.

But unfortunately for him, his whiny little ***** *** projects a lifestyle more befitting a trashy single mom, working doubles at a Maryville, TN Ruby Tuesday, bitching about rolling silverware and 5% tips from retirees on their $14 bill.

- Cal has me all boned up the way he’s talking about this team. From the experience of PJ and Quade, to the calming influence of Travis to the fire of Johnson and Hagans, this sounds like his kind of team. I can’t wait to see us ball.

- Gatlinburg gets a bad rap but I’ve always enjoyed it. May be my mom’s favorite place on earth lol

The key to enjoying gatlinburg is to just relax and accept it for what it is. It’s redneck and trashy and nostalgic and awesome. If you spend your entire time there consumed by all the confederate flags and vaping you’ll let it get in the way of a nice little mountain town with 600 really good candy stores and neat 18th century German classicism architecture. Grab a box of fudge and enjoy

Confused Col.? It’s all on there buddy. Just warning you about eating seafood, has it by the raw bar selections as well.

And @PTI (pti) its about 70/30. I don’t roll silver, that’s server work bud, obviously below me. I usually just stock up on cups, coasters and napkins before I head out the door.

Fries are awesome I think but Sysco for sure. Those sandwiches are pretty damn good and caught that day by our two boats docked at the bar, @WayneDougan. Glad you enjoyed. Can’t beat it really. Next time snag that cracked conch and thank me later.

Next two days off, to do list is chock full and I’m actually looking forward to it. With the gal in fire academy I’m doing all her usual duties and she’s been pleasantly surprised. She was promoted to “squad leader”(no idea what that means) and is killing it apparently.

Almost out of hurricane season, been a brutal couple years. I mean, it goes til the end of November as this guy corrected me at the bar yesterday when I said we’re almost through it. But in earnest, it’s the end of October. Asked ol TG Shuck sitting there to go ahead and google how many hurricanes have hit FLA in November. That’s when he found out there’s only been two ever in recorded history. :boom:

Glad the guys in here that were in the panhandle cleared out in time.

Always love those happy, positive @wcc31 posts. He can be cranky sometimes but his excited and upbeat posts may be the best on here.

I used to rag on Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge because I'm a snooty LIEberal. But then I went down there for a BIG TIME YOUTH SOCCER deal and had a good time. They have a great sports facility there, and in between games the dads dumped the kids off on the moms and drank a bunch of moonshine. Definitely a lot of vaping and fat, but that's America, I guess.

At least America is vaping now instead of smoking. That’s actually a monumentally significant change, from a public health standpoint.

-The new problem with Rogue is the 5 replies after each post. He's a terrible poster so block or skim past his post. I really don't see why he incites so much anger.

-I think SGA is going to be great, maybe not multiple year all-star, but a long solid NBA career. When you have that much talent, size combined with appears to be a killer determination good things will happen. Crazy he's become one of Cal's absolute favorites along with Knight.

-Guilted and bribed(with Wild Eggs) a large group of guys into flu shots today. The anit-vaccine movement is just amazing and really irresponsible. Opening up a full course of bacon, cheesy eggs, chorizo gravy, skillet potatoes, biscuits in front of them during a meeting and declaring it was for all employees that got the shot did the trick. Even the most stubborn folded.

Lotta Shaun Livingston in SGA.

I don't think he'll ever be a 'star', but I wouldn't count him out of making an AS Game or two. The thing with him is he doesn't rely on athleticism or explosiveness really at all at age 19, so his game would seemingly age particularly well w/ little drop off.

-Starting tonight, there isn't a weekend w/out UK Basketball until April. [cheers] (Gotta be honest, I've got nothing for BBM anymore tho)

- Haven’t come home from a bar with my clothes reeking of vape one time so I’m in favor of the pivot from the addicted.

- My starting lineup in case you’ve forgotten:

Green
Herro
Johnson
Travis
Washington

- I encourage you all to bare with Hagans early. He’ll be fine.

- Have a feeling Herro dukes Duke.

- How does this football team respond to failure? Kick *** or take a step back?

- Liberty, in case you’ve forgotten, is the soul’s right to breathe.

- KingLlama- slackin bro. Where’s your loaded basketball randoms at? Too busy making jokes I guess.

I would be shocked if the football team didn't respond well. They needed a bye week in the worst way and it's not like we got embarrassed at TAMU.

I was thinking about BB, lets hear some quality takes.

The hypocrisy of your premier program CBB fan knows know bounds. I have fallen in love with reading Twitter comments about #hoopstrial. Basically, Cal should have known Camby took money and Rose never took his SAT. Also, that even though the NCAA cleared him, that Cal should have known that he would later be declared ineligible.

But now:

- Self and Kansas are victims. Clearly Self had no idea his guys were taking money, wrecking cars, mom's banging bag men, etc...He's clean, y'all! Never a hiccup and HE EVEN SAT BILLY PRESTON!

- No way Rick Pitino could know money was exchanging hands. No way he could know hookers were in the dorms. No way he could know of a rogue assistant aiming to tear down such a prestigious program.

- Arizona - yikes. You guys are f'd. There isn't even hypocrisy there. That's about dead to rights f'd as you get.

- Roy Williams knows nothing of AAU, shady deals, or anything resembling the dirtiness of CBB recruiting. Nope. I'm sure he never knew Fats Thomas was giving his players cars or whoever the former player was selling drugs out of his rental house. Perfect example of doing things the right way. He didn't know. Come on, he's Roy M'fing Williams. Bastion of all that is pure and holy in sports.

- Coach K is arguably the most untouchable coach in the history of CBB aside from Saban. Too big to fail.

But that Coach Cal, he's a dirty rascal. Just you guys wait until UK is put on the death penalty because they're all that is wrong with CBB. The Evil Empire and their fans even DESTROYED A REFS LIFE!

Win #9, take the trophy from the NCAA, tell NCAA to bend over and shove the trophy up their collective greedy asses and tell the rest of CBB to stand in front of an automatic dick eating machine and die.

I may be a little emotional about this.

* Was talking at work last week with Larry Vaught (*grabs Gopher, picks up name*) about what kind of team out there will give this bunch fits. From a stylistic/personnel perspective...we couldn't come up with one. Obviously Duke is going to be fantastic and could beat us on Nov. 6 but I like the construction of our team better. It's breaking it down into more general terms that I have a tougher time with.

* This group appears to be built to play any style. Maybe one of those jumping jack SEC West teams on one of those wacky Tuesday night road games could knock us off when they're banking in threes from the corner and some random stiff has the game of his life, but there isn't an opposing style of play out there right now that I'm leery about.

* This media stretch from John this week is some ball swinging for the ages.

* Keldon Johnson might unseat Andre Riddick for this guy, and he hasn't played yet. Ultimate box checker. If he ever does a dunk, kicks his legs out and then spins himself off the rim, I won't know what to do with myself.

* REALLY excited to see the strides Reid Travis has made. DeCourcy says he's lost 17 pounds since the Bahamas, that he was down to 245. Between the added weight and the rust, it makes sense that he struggled finishing at the rim. He's a career 54% shooter, he's going to be fine, and he's going to be great.

* SEC team that will overachieve this year: LSU

* SEC team that will underachieve this year: Auburn

* Nationally underrated team: Boston College

* Nationally overrated team: Oregon

Write all of these down in blood.

* I'm calling Bill Self "Billy Hoots" from now on, so thanks to whoever came up with that one. Can't get over how sloppy some of these coaches are with their cheating. Looking at you, Mark Gottfried. Gottfried landed on his feet at Cal State Northridge and his lead assistant is Jim F'n Harrick. Just set it ablaze.

* We need to get the Pittsburgh mafia to pull some strings and get Indiana back on the schedule the way it was meant to be: Alternating between Louisville/Indy every year with the dividing line at midcourt.

* Barring injury, we're going to win the championship this year. Bring on the hoops.

Glad to hear it!

“I’m having more fun playing basketball with this group,” Richards told Michael Bennett. “It’s just more exciting. It’s more competitive. Guys actually get after each other. Off the court, we don’t really hate each other. We just gel together. That’s what most people are saying right now. They’re saying that we don’t hate each other.”

* Has anyone cool ever vaped? Like, ever??

Smoking is awful, but at least it can arguably look cool in some instances.

* “No, I’m not terrible. Here’s a 4,000 word, 8-paragraph rebuttal to support my stance.”

* National Coming Out Day yesterday.

Your move, LadyCat.

* “Amateur ganbang” has been a rather profitable pron search of late. Very authentic.

* What will make this Kentucky basketball team great is that they don’t hate each other. Ironically, what makes GYERO great is that we do.

To all: get pumped.
