What should we do about this classic, whatever it is named?

A. Abandon it as soon as we can, the other one is enough
B. Drop Ohio State and pick up Wisconsin or some other team?

1. Revenge. 2. They're much more of a perennial program than Ohio State.
Revenge? Beating Wisky in a regular season game isn't revenge for us losing to them in 15. We lost that game, they didn't win it.
Also, what exactly is wrong with the 4 teams that are in this classic? Yeah, UNC*** cheated, but we can still use a win over them as a resume builder. Can't complain about the other two teams when they HAVE beaten us.

It is demeaning and a disgrace on our record to ever play The Filth. I’d prefer to forfeit than play those scum. Any plan that removes that trash from our season is preferable.

Drop Ohio state and add zona.

It really is a bizarre group of teams.
You can't add Zona. You can't have 2 teams in the same conference in it. (I theoretically guess you could but 2 conference teams playing a non conference game ever 3 years doesn't make sense.) It would have to be a Big Ten, Big 12 or a Gonzaga.
Having said that. Dump it and schedule a home and home every year with another big boy would be what I would like. I wouldn't dump the Champions Classic for anything.

OSU is kind of the odd man in the field. UNC has six titles, UK has eight, and UCLA has eleven. OSU has one. OSU is not historically a basketball powerhouse like the other three.

Kind of funny that the CBS Sports Classic field has more titles than CHAMPIONS Classic field.

I like IU for OSU.

Or maybe replace them (OSU) w/ Villanova; at least for as long as Wright has them riding high.

You know, I hated losing that game to Wisconsin, too. But some of you forget we took away their title the year before. They would have killed UConn. Face it, our 2015 team never was allowed to improve off of a loss. That's why going undefeated is so damn hard. UNLV beat Duke by 30 points in the 1990 title game. They lost to them the next year in the Final Four because Coach K had several opportunities to tell his team "See? We lose games when we do this." And like Wisconsin, Duke had revenge on its side. And the calls.

Losing that game sucked. But I'm over it. If you can't take the defeats you shouldn't follow sports. Name me one franchise...in any sport...that hasn't suffered heartbreak. The more you win, the more you experience. It's part of the gig.

And I like the Villanova idea. At least you wouldn't have three giants and then OSU. Villanova can at least make an argument why it belongs.

I honestly don’t care much who we play as long as it stays in Vegas. Makes it easy to take all five of my kids to a game at least once per year.

That UNC game was incredible..
Second that. I live in Vegas too, great seeing BBN fill up the T Mobile

I like having an opportunity to match up with North Carolina every few years. But OSU and UCLA are dead weight. Add Villanova and maybe Syracuse? Not sure there is an obvious 4th.

Ohio State has a huge alumni base and draws viewers because of that...its all about the money.

Just make it UK vs. UNC every year. The only two teams that matter; plus, UNC is about to go downhill. We can gain some wins on them in the head-to-head.

UCLA should stay. Eleven titles speaks for itself. Three consecutive Final Fours under Howland. Lots of big name players in the NBA now. They have the bona fides.

Why? That would be like Doc Holiday refusing to gun down Johnny Ringo at the big oak! :)
Unlike UNC our hypocrisy only goes so far. UNC has a giant hole right thru the middle of their institution, they can never cheat enough to ever fill it.

No matter if we beat them 50 times in a row it wouldn't be as satisfying as being able to say you don't deserve a seat at the table ,*** tu decept teque
