The movie Ski School set expectations of Colorado ski trips way too high. 17-year old Wayne Dougan assumed it was all topless coeds/cold beer in hot-tubs after a big day spent shreddin' the double-blacks. Get out there and it's a 17-1 guy-to-girl ratio, plus I'm in bed by 8:30 because my head hurts from crashing into a tree on a blue groomer.

Kids obviously have access to the intranets now which is way worse...but I shake my head at the movies my parents knowingly or unknowingly allowed us to watch in the late 80’s early 90’s.

I mean, we were watching uncensored Rambo, Caddy Shack, etc. at basically my twins age (5).

Always kind of thought my old man looked like Indiana Jones. Instead of a bulllwhip, his weapon of choice was a cane pole. Two separate occasions while fishing he had to fight off an alligator and a water moccasin that were coming after me.

He beat the everloving tar out of both of them with that cane pole. No F’s were given.

Parents were wide open on the non censoring of movies as well. I remember watching Cheech & Chong, Friday the 13th, and blatant sexual overtones with not a flinch of turning them off.

Despite sex/porn/etc being everywhere now, and the recent deterioration of the social fabric in general, it’s funny that sexual mores actually seem to have been more free and libre in the 80’s than they are now. It was generally a healthier sexual culture. Better cocaine, too.

Tales from the crypt was good for at least one solid titty shot and sex scene when we would sleep over at a buddies house who had the luxury of premium cable. Between that and fuzzy/blue spice channel we had it pretty good in the 90s.
