1st quarter over, 17 to 15. Ryerson with the lead. So far duke not great passing , and zion looks to be sucking wind...

17-15 ryerson after the first 10 min quarter (FIBA rules). Duke is poor with the basketball and Fat Hami might be their best shooter. They are horrendous outside of 2 feet from the goal so far. A lot can change, but I'm not impressed so far.

Zion looks dead but when he was alive, he looked good offensively.

Barrett playing okay.

Weak as hell defensively. Turning it over way too much.

Whoever said zion cant shoot was wrong, three ball...and a missed shot put back..duke 20 to 19

Kind of expected to have turnovers in the first game. No excuse for lack of effort on defense though. Was surprised to see Zion’s three go in. If he can have even a decent percentage from there, he’ll go top 10 in the draft. Definitely needs to improve his fitness though. Looks totally out of shape.

What do we know about Ryerson? They are without Jones, so I guess this is to be expected, but I'm feeling pretty good after what we did in the Bahamas.

Zion has hit two threes. Interesting.

I still don’t think anyone else has scored besides him and Barrett.

They said early in the broadcast that Tre Jones had hip surgery. Anyone know when this was? That will take a while to recover from, if true.

Zion is as good as I’ve aaid even before he picked a college. Has hit two threes, made good passes, very good off the dribble.

Bolden is still Bolden (that’s not a compliment)

RJ is very good one on one but doesn’t adjust when he is stopped and will put up a forced lay up, very good in the open court.

Same issues I said they would have is showing with shooting and defense, Duke is missing two of their starters though. Scoring will be a issue outside of the main guys, the drop off in talent is STEEP after the main guys, especially on offense

I know they have two good players missing but they only have two good players playing. Can you have a good season with four players?

Zion is good no doubt about it, but he does appear a bit out of shape from a cardio standpoint. I am still interested to see how he does against opponents closer in size. They Canadaian team has some height, but still very thin guys. I would love to have him, but seeing how he adjust to being more than a highlight dunker will be interesting.

Huge drop off from Duke's top 4 players(two of which are absent) and the rest of the team. Will probably only be 7 deep.

This is spot on. He needs to get in better shape. Even in bad shape he has been head a shoulders the best player on the floor. RJ has struggled ALOT with being patient. He’s doing what he did in H.S in trying to take guys off the dribble but the players out here are older and smarter

Annnnnnd Zion just did what Zion does best. Up to 18 points in the first half while missing one shot. This Ryerson team is worse than any team UK played as far as offense. Duke up 10 and likely would be up 15-20 with Reddish and Trae. Some of the players playing for Duke now should not play when Duke plays good teams. Duke has a loooong way to go (from the players who are playing) like I said they would.

Duke looks like they have absolutely no depth. Zion's athleticism is very fun to watch. Barrett has been very erratic to this point. It's only almost halfway through the first game, but they look fairly poor on both ends of the floor against much weaker competition than UK played.

Zion is insane. Anyone saying anything different is just hating. If the draft was tomorrow he’d be my #1 pick. Of course, there’s still a whole season to go so that really means nothing. And, Ryerson would lose to EKU by 20. They’re awful.
