Jeffries decommit a bad omen for Wiseman?

Ya think?

* Kudos to all the lake life haters. Nothing worse than spending the day on a boat, relaxing, skiing, tubing and whatnot, and then spending the evening floating with a lovely view. I sincerely hate summer, but Kentucky Lake is the one thing that makes it bearable.

* My house must live under some kind of jinxed rain bubble. For the last month, rain and storms have passed all around me. My poor dog has to deal with the storm anxiety because we can hear the thunder all around, but not a drop of rain. Running my sprinkler constantly but still the grass is turning brown, and spending thirty minutes every day watering my deck garden. Rain, for God’s sake! Please!

*My middle child started graduate school for her MBA at Vandy today. She has all her UK gear and decorations in her apartment & will be wearing UK blue at every UK/Vandy game, but she also has Vandy gear and will cheer on Vandy at all other times. I don’t know how to feel about this. She gave me a Vandy Mom sticker for my car, and mom pride and support demand that I display it, just like all the terrible crayon drawings on the fridge over the years.
Such a hard time for me. Porch lights on, please!

The struggle is real, hang in there Terie, better times are ahead

I also didnt get any rain in MidTown, my yard is turning brown, and the lasses plants are only surviving because I choose to water them. I do not, however, have a child at Vandy

This is the saddest one. I love our blue uniforms regardless of checkers. This looks like some 10 year old made a jersey in Mspaint.

Just an FYI, you have met me. Over the years, I, and my husband, have brought many watches, mantle clocks and such to be repaired, first by your father, and then by you.
One time Tim and I were in there, I remarked on a photo of your parents in old timey clothing that looked similar to one of my husband’s parents. He told me it was from some kind of centennial celebration and that your parents and his parents were friends.
My husband’s dad was a golf pro at Calvert CC and was a founding member. He also owned the Par 3 out on 62.

The last UK Bahamas garb was awful as well. Only bit I'm holding on is no checkers on any of the jerseys.

Not really sure how much Jefferies plays into Wiseman's decision, because it seems the friendship was a little overhyped, but obviously would prefer to have him on board. Probably more today do with us going after tons of guys ranked above him at the similar positions. Has Cal ever lost a guy after committing?

According to KSR this is the first time any player in the Cal era has decommitted.

  1. That's a humblebrag if I ever read one, but seriously, congrats to your daughter. Great program.
  2. "So-and-so-college mom" stickers are for undergrad only. Everybody else your daughter's age has a real job, and you don't see their parents sporting "Bank of America Dad" stickers on the back of their cars.
  3. Collegiate gear for grad school shouldn't even purchased unless you go to a top flight school (check mark for Vandy), and then should only be functional (e.g., a t-shirt to work out in, a hat for outdoor activities). This allows you to give off the "yeah, I'm only wearing this for functional purposes" vibe, but deep down you know you're bragging.

<-Was just a South Louisville redneck but at 14 I worshiped the denim. Day I picked up the denim Cons was a top 5 day as a kid.

-Being edgy or doing something new and different is fine, which we were doing in the 90's, now we're trying to force traditions that don't exist.

-I like the script on the prototype but that's kind of Kansas' deal.

-DGAF what the football team wears.

-Explained on Netflix is a decent little watch. 18-20 minute podcast style episodes.

About time to light a fire under Nike's ***. Have Cal @ a Puma rep or something. **** is getting worse by the year. I know it is ONLY practice gear, but I rather not have my team wear **** that came off the rack at Family Dollar. Walmart thinks that gear is wack.

I just don’t understand how they can continue to make garbage uniforms for UK. Most tradition rich program of all time, great colors, a kick *** old school logo, and yet all they churn out is retread uninspired trash.

I 100% guarantee a group of high school kids could design better uniforms for a class project. Yet, presumably there are several world class designers at Nike that green light this ****.

Marcus Welty put collars and top buttons on the jerseys.

My wife’s great-great grandmother played women’s basketball for UK (TS). Huge power K on the long-sleeve jersey and the collar was tight! Couldn’t tell the color scheme, but seemed very traditional. Don’t recall any buttons, however.

I posted this to SAE’s tweet last night, but the script font will be out of style by next year’s Master’s. Also, Seton Hall should have all trademarks to the script style logo.

Puma has had a little surge lately. Not sure what’s driving that, but I’m an old so whatever, dudes. Good on ya’!

Let’s face it, UK has never been the program that sets fashion standards. Never. Whether it was the Keith Haring inspired “geometric motion” shorts of the early 90’s, the denim, the icecycles, or the checkerboard. Think about it, arguably the best CBB team of the last 25-30 years wore denim! Not even they could inspire that trend (except through the hills and hollers of Ky - and south side Louisville).

None of our stuff has ever “caught on.” Marcus have puff paint and dazzle print. Face the facts, y’all.

Do we still have those throwbacks we wore in the SECT a few years ago? Maybe just pull those out and put new names on them?

*Barron week is my adult Christmas. First one without my grandfather, still will be a celebration but there will be some emotion there as well...those of you that know the family and his ties to this tournament will get that. I fully expect to shoot a thousand trying to damn hard. Not to mention, I've carded about 10 complete solo rounds this year, everything else has been either goofing around practicing or scrambles. Not a recipe for going low.

*Are either of these QB's any good? Here is what I am seeing, an experienced defense that will be improved, some nice weapons on offense, an above average offensive line ===> but ****** QB and ST's play that keeps us hovering around at "meh" 6 wins. Happy to be wrong.

*The uniform topic is frustrating because it is something so easy to control. Recruiting, games, sports in general are somewhat controllable but there is certainly a lot of luck and randomness that factors into those things. Uniforms and in-game environment is something that UK has full control over and tends to screw up more often than not, both sports. Seriously, a panel from GYERO could drastically fix both in a matter of weeks.

*So instagram/FB question just out of curiosity. I understand that there is some politically hack/bot out there that makes these memes or whatever you call them for both sides, just stirring the pot propaganda. But, I see these that don't really send any message, stuff like "Like if you wish you were at a beach", "I love the color blue, share if you agree!" Do people that create these get some sort of benefit if they are responded to or shared enough? Is it like youtube where you get compensation at some level or what's the point? *teed up for Joey*

What channel will be covering “one of the most prestigious and long-lasting sporting events in all of Kentucky.”

I’d like to see highlights from the Lake.
