Actually, I have no doubt this team wins the title. That’s why I’m just having fun in 90% of my posts lately.
Absolutely nothing to be concerned about except for possible injuries, and every team has that concern.
You’re a man/woman/ transgender of few words.
There’s absolutely potential concern about the interior defense. Cal needs shot blockers for his defense to work and this roster might not have any.
Still think we’re the team to beat, but there’s always concerns.
Offense isn't going to be the issue for Herro, IMHO. The question he has to answer is: can he guard anyone?
If he can play defense, then he'll get plenty of minutes.
I think he's big enough, athletic enough and seems like a tough kid. He's bigger stronger and more athletic than Quade at the 2, maybe not as experienced but I got a good feeling about this kid because his scoring ability!!!
One of our guards will be leading scorer. I have no idea which one until feb next year. I’m thinking 16 ppg outta Johnson, quickley or haggans
UK worse team defensively was probably the Noel team. I am pretty sure we've had good defenses the last two years without much shot blocking.

That's pretty close to what I was thinking. I doubt that anyone averages more than 15 a game and we have 5 or 6 averaging double figures.

Richards at 20 mpg is almost as crazy as Richards as 4th leading scorer at 8.5.
If Richards is seeing 20 mpg. How is Reid seeing 28.8, PJ 30, and EH seeing 20 and averaging same point totals as Richards with way more offensive skill? Not only is that 99 mpg between players that'll play all there time at the 4/5 spots (80 minutes), it's absolutely ridiculous thinking Richards sees 20 minutes and 8 ppg and Montgomery playing 20 and also seeing 8 ppg with his far superior offensive ability. Bottom line though, we are absolutely screwed if Richards sees 20 mpg and is our 4th leading scorer. Richards shouldn't see more than 10 mpg, I think he sees 5-7 mpg and really only plays in foul trouble situations as this will be a developmental year for the king of missing wide open dunks.
This is best shot we have since 2015. We need another championship, it’s been a long time.
They both know how to score. Knox rarely D’ed up. We will see if Herro can/will. But that doesn’t mean he won’t play if he doesn’t. I think Cal has changed his tune some as evidenced by all these shooters on the team. He’s seen what Nova has been able to do with capable shooters all over the place and less emphasis on D. Part of what makes a great coach is the ability to adapt. Hopefully Cal is because the game has changed.
In the end Cal will play the best players on both sides of the ball.
We will see which guards will play.
Just based on most of the previous seasons, it will likely be the 5-star guys.

Probably but keep in mind that Lamb, Booker and SGA were 4 star guards and they played plenty. Booker was a great shooter the first half of the year but couldn't guard a statue. Lamb and SGA were pretty good defenders.
Lamb, Booker, and SGA were all 5-stars in some of the rankings. They were all top 25-30 players.
Lamb was the highest ranked SG on the team both years he played.
Booker technically played behind a higher ranked player (Harrison).
SGA played behind Green, until he beat him out for the spot, largely due to his defense. Green couldn't guard a statue last year. SGA had a better all around game than Green, which is why he played more.
The best all around player is going to play. We will see who that is as the season progresses.
Quickley has the reputation as the better defender, ballhandler, and passer. Quickley is also known as a good shooter.
So unless Quickley can't throw it in the ocean or Herro ends up a defensive superstar, I am expecting Quickley to play more.
Could be wrong. Have been before. I didn't think SGA would end up being better than Green, so it's definitely possible that Herro ends up playing better and playing more.
But I think Herro being able to defend will be part of that equation, especially if Quickley is as good a defender as advertised.
